Wife and I came here randomly on a holiday Monday. Could not have been more impressed with the wine quality and the service! Brian took care of us and tasted us through the entire experience. Reds were excellent and the meads were solid as well. Small little tasting room which made it more VIP. Will be back again!

?This Maryland family works hard to keep their grape vines pure and healthy. I saw a program on PBS 2-13-24. Everything was extremely clean and the grapes couldn’t be more beautiful! Now all I have to do is taste their beautiful wines! I saw a tasting of a honey blanc and a Cabernet. So exciting to have wine farmers trying-working hard and succeeding in keeping their growth and harvest clean and pure. They have very devoted, and educated and of course faithful Workers at the beautiful Winery in Mt.Airy. Chemistry is an Integral part of their family’s success! It’s so exciting!! This is a Maryland Vineyard - Both beautiful inside and out! Xox ??

A really nice visit to this small winery but with a big heart as Rachel Lipman, currently the vineyard manager and general manager of the family business after the death of her 96-year-old William Loew, her grandfather, vineyard founder and Polish Holocaust survivor. She’s very personable with a great passion for the business which it’s been reflected on the quality of their excellent wines which in my opinion are not that expensive. She’d introduced herself in a very spontaneous way and talked to Us giving also a tour of their facilities while providing us with an explanation and a taste of several of their wines and upcoming mead (a fermented honey and water), which it’s delicious.Without a doubt, she’ll continue to carry on to the family legacy success as her recent wine awards shows. We’ll make sure to visit this great wine facility!

We are wine club members. We picked up our order and then had a glass of wine before we left.

Wine was really good. We tried the guided tasting which was really nice. Favorites were Melo and Barbera Nouveau. Staff was great and the story behind the winery was really interesting. The inside is small, but quaint. Will definitely be back!

A very enjoyable, personal visit with excellent wines. I enjoy oak barrel aged wines, and all of the reds here are that. I highly recommend a visit.

I really enjoy Loew Vineyards. I tried a few baby sips of their Gruner Veltliner at an event in Frederick, enjoyed it, and made a mental note to visit their property to try their other wines. A few weeks later, we were able to go in to Mt Airy at their vineyard and do a tasting. I enjoyed every wine I had; i had a mostly red wine tasting as well as a mead and sweet. I loved that they were flexible with which wines I wanted to try - often wine tastings in Maryland are pre-selected for you. I also liked that they let you take your tasting wine glass home with you as a souvenir. It’s actually my favorite wine glass at home now. I enjoyed their wines so much that I signed up for their wine club. I also like the story and legacy behind this winery, and Rachel the winemaker seems to be really passionate about the wine that is produced, and it shows in the wines themselves. Rachel really does a wonderful job of making you feel welcomed and taken care of, I received a delicious goat cheese gift and some of her family’s delicious challah bread with my wine club allocation. I don’t feel like another number at this winery. I look forward to continuing to visit and bringing my family and friends here.

Wonderful little place! Brian gave us tasting and was so considerate of preferences. Went home with a bottle of 2020 Cab Franc that was super!

Wow we had read the reviews, but what a great experience from the wine to our snacks. We enjoyed all of the wines and the meads we tried. The staff and winemaker provided the best experience sharing their knowledge and craft! We will go back and bring friends!! :)

Honestly some of the best red wine in Maryland. No doubt this is a hidden gem of the state, and at an amazing price (about $25/bottle). Super friendly staff and a super secret mead recipe that is the best!

The BEST Maryland wine. IYKYK. I don’t like sweet wine but the award winning dry meads have changed me and my husbands perspective. The reds are juicy and acidic, dry, acidic and as described. It takes talent to produce, harvest, ferment and bottle wine like Loew makes. Been all over France and Italy, and they’ve got competition with Loew. We are big fans and are wine club members. Highly recommend trying their wines blended with Malbec, Cab Franc and the special Chancellor. Rachel is the rainman of wine making and goes out of her way to make your wine experience spectacular. Thank you Loew!.

My husband and I came from Canada to visit our friends in Annapolis, MD. We found Lower winery by accident, we didn't know what to expect. What an amazing surprise it was! Our host Annie greeted us very warmly outside. She is a wonderful, very knowledgeable and passionate host. The wine (we had customize flight) are of excellent quality. We had a great time learning about the winemaker process and the history of the winery. Our favourite was wine Klara (created by granddaughter of WILLIAM LOEW, she is the youngest winemaker in MD). Annie gave us as a souvenir wine glasses with logo. Definitely we will be back.
