Decided to try Olde Town after not going in many years, I always remember them having fantastic breakfast options, unfortunately that was not the case this time around. The portions are rather small compared to the prices they charge and the food was just not good. The bacon had a funny taste, the potatoes were bland and the biscuits with the biscuits and gravy were hard, I couldn't cut them with just a fork. Not sure what happened to this place but it's definitely not what it used to be.

Olde town has been a staple in Mt Airy for as long as I've been alive. I have eaten here many times over the years and always recommended it to people. My visit last week for breakfast (my favorite meal of the day) was very disappointing to say the least from a food stand point. I'm not sure if they have a new cook, but the sausage gravy over potatoes was not good at all. Everything was very bland, there was barely any sausage in the mountain of gravy, the potatoes were way too thick and not cooked all the way through. I felt like I was eating raw potato smothered in something disguised as sausage gravy. I only had a few bites and pushed it forward to be discarded. Waitress was nice but nothing stood out about her service. I'm not writing this to put Old Towne down, I'm writing this in hopes that they will see this and improve the quality of food they put out and hold that standard at all times. I know it's hard to be a restaurant these days and everyone has an opinion, but if the foods great people will just shut up and eat.

Its been awhile since we've been to breakfast at Olde Town. I ordered my favorite, bananas foster but this time instead of having it over french toast, I opt to have it over pancakes. My husband had the waffle and was disappointed they no longer have the berry compote. Both the pancake and waffle had an unusual taste. We both tasted corn meal in the batter or something that was grainy. It was not at all delicious as we were used to and the bananas foster didn't have any flavor as before. We were informed by the waitess that the original cook had left. We advised her of our meal wasn't satisfactory and had a odd taste to the batter and also the bananas foster had no flavor. She asked if we would like something else. We had a rotten taste in our mouths so she compt our meal. Very disappointed customers.

Walked in at 1:06 PM with a couple of empty tables. Took about 10 minutes to get seated and then another 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Waited and waited and waited with no attention from the staff for refills or anything and didn’t get our appetizer (mozzarella sticks) until AFTER our food, which arrived at 2:21.

It was good, but if we’d have known how long the food would take, we would’ve just stopped at Chick-fil-A. At least all the other tables who also had little kids with them commiserated.

The four of us picked this place to meet for breakfast. When we walked in there were about 5 tables empty of people but full of half eaten plates. We thought that was weird. The hostess asked how many and she said she would be clearing off a table for us. Two of went to the restroom which wasn’t the cleanest and came back to the lady stuffing her face full of pancakes behind the bar and no tables cleaned off. We stood and waited for about 7 minutes and then decided to go somewhere else. I was really looking forward to trying out this place but to be honest I will probably never try to eat there again.

Arrived for lunch Tuesday around 12:45 and all tables were taken. Took that as a good sign. We ate at the counter. All day breakfast menu was available. We ordered a hamburger and a Rachel sandwich with fries and iced tea. The fries and drinks were very good. The hamburger was standard half pound frozen patty cooked to a lifeless puck. Onion, tomato and lettuce topping was okay. The Rachel was inedible. Very very runny Cole slaw on it turned it into a mush that could not be picked up and eaten. Service was friendly.
