Succotash at National Harbor is a delightful restaurant with amazing food. The Taste of the South is highly recommended, especially the catfish, chicken and waffles, and mac and cheese. The menu, created by Top Chef alumni Edward Lee, offers a well-thought-out selection of southern-inspired dishes with Korean touches, ensuring a unique and flavorful dining experience. The service is attentive and pleasant, with a focus on providing a great dining experience. Whether you're there for brunch or dinner, the delicious food and excellent service will make you want to come back for more. Recent visitors enjoyed the sampler, fried green tomato salad, and fried chicken entree, while also praising the Korean cauliflower as their favorite dish. Some found the mac and cheese good, though others thought the cornbread was mushy and undercooked. The chicken & waffles often feature a lot of chicken but only a small waffle, which can be dry and dark but still flavorful with a sweet drizzle. The fried chicken is seasoned and crispy, though some found the chicken itself bland. The cheese on the chicken adds a nice touch. The staff is hospitable, and special gestures like birthday desserts are appreciated. Overall, the restaurant provides a mix of flavors and good service, making it a notable spot despite some mixed reviews about certain dishes.
