My grandmother has been a loyal customer of Mid Atlantic and regularly orders the whiting. She is allergic to shellfish but has safely eaten whiting her entire life and has ordered it from here many times with no issue.
Unfortunately, last week there appears to have been cross-contamination with shellfish, and she suffered an allergic reaction after eating her order. Thank God she is okay, but this situation could have become very serious very quickly.
I’m sharing this not out of anger, but concern. Allergies are life-threatening, and proper separation and handling of seafood is extremely important. We hope this is taken seriously so that extra care is used moving forward to prevent something like this from happening again.

The food is fantastic but I did think the calamari was fried to hard so Im good on that. But when getting a dinner all the sides that I had was definitely working. And the definitely made sure that you get your money's worth or maybe it was my smile 😃. Bump that it was my smile so don't get mad is your plate doesn't look like mine. Im not a local and this was my second time. So when I'm in town this is one of my favorite spots. Also I did have take out and you can see my food in the photos.

One of my coworkers has been coming to Mid-Atlantic Seafood for a while now and always swears by the shrimp and grits. I finally had the chance to try some, and let me tell you… it was like that. 🔥

The shrimp were perfectly seasoned, tender, and cooked just right, sitting on top of rich, creamy grits that had real depth and flavor. Everything came together in a way that felt comforting, soulful, and satisfying—no shortcuts, just done right.

If you’re looking for a spot that delivers consistency and flavor, Mid-Atlantic Seafood clearly knows what they’re doing. The shrimp and grits alone are worth the visit. Trust the regulars—they’re onto something. 😌👌

As a Critic food was great the two staff members were unprofessional and discriminatory I will not patronize a business that is bias there also under new management of course I have been going to this business for over 7 years recently they changed management and the staff misconduct I will never entertain I will make reference on my new Podcast in Reviews please note.

I've been going to Mid Atlantic Seafood for many years and continue to go even though I moved out of the area. I love fish (croakers) and they have the best fried croakers that I have tasted. The price has gone up a few times so I'm hoping it doesn't again anytime soon, however, it's comparable to other places based on my research. They usually give me two large pieces. I can't find anyone better in the DMV. I have to drive 45 minutes to pick it up but it's worth the trip to me. The staff is friendly and they recently renovated their Lanham location which is the one I go to. They have a wide variety of food and often crowded so you should be able to find something you like.

The entire reason for placing an online or phone or is for convenience of grab and go. I specifically asked the employee about adding butter and jelly to toast while hot. She replies she got it. My husband pick up the order and gets I back home....not only is there not butter or jelly on the toast, there is not butter to be put on the now cold toast. This location consistently fall s short for minor neglectful tendencies. Do better!

I’ve ordered from Mid Atlantic Seafood twice now and yeah… I’m officially hooked 😆
Ordered through DoorDash both times and let me just say: the food pulled up like it knew it was being judged.

The fried chicken? Still hot. Still crunchy. Not soggy, not sad, not “delivery fried.” Crunch intact like it came straight out the fryer. The mac & cheese and candied yams?? IMMACULATE. Comfort food executed with intention. Flavor on point, portions generous, and nothing felt skimpy or rushed.

This is the kind of food that makes you pause mid-bite and nod to yourself like, “Yeah… they did that.” You absolutely get your money’s worth, and then some.

If consistency is king, Mid Atlantic Seafood is wearing the crown. Soul food that travels well is a rare talent — and they’ve mastered it. Already planning my next order. 🔥🍗🍠🧀
