The seating is awkward. If you buy tickets for the row section, you seat and watch other people eat in front of you. All seating is first come first served. Chairs are plastic and a big high for short people.

Nice, cozy venue with a lovely atmosphere. I will be attending another event/concert/activity there again.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Do not and I repeat do NOT host a private event here. Amy Walker, their event coordinator is not qualified to do her job. She does not know how to coordinate or communicate; she is unprofessional and scheduled a tour with me to see the place AFTER I worked with her for a week and then tells me it is booked. So disorganized. She knew I was interested and I drove an hour and rearranged my schedule. Don’t let the venue fool you; she is a reflection of their work ethic - getting a contract on the table is all they care about. Not working with potential customers. They have NO regard for customers time or the fact that their inefficiencies cause inconvenience.

ZERO stars! Do not host a private event here. Amy Walker the event coordinator is not qualified to do her job. She does not know how to coordinate or communicate. She scheduled a tour with me AFTER the place was booked. And after I drove an hour and rearranged my entire schedule to make this appointment. Not just that, but I lost out on other opportunities because I relied on Amy and her inefficiencies to secure the space. It appears that the work ethic at Strathmore is get a contract - doesn't matter who is inconvenienced. No regard to customer service. This should not be expected from a company of this caliber.

Attended great performance by dueling piano duet at this location. Got premium tickets, and we were seated at the table right next to the scene. Ordered drinks and food and enjoyed the music. Helpful staff and good environment. Food was reasonably priced for location. Parking is either at the building (limited), across the building, or around the corner on old Georgetown rd. Overall, it was a good experience.

Nice venue, good sound engineer and intimate seating. Service was lacking the night of our visit due to not enough servers and bartenders working.

A wonderful performance by a Brazilian guitarist. Very intimate and beautiful. A small venue, which makes it even better.A parking garage right below the venue is great, but very confusing. Took me 20 minutes to find my car on the way back. And be sure to carefully note where you are!

Not really a place you want to get food at unless you're in the table seating. I was in general seating and it would have been impossible to flag down a waiter to get food. I'd suggest going somewhere else to eat before the show. Or if you really want a drink, you order it at the bar before the show and just hold it the entire time. The most important part: the music. The music was amazing. The sound engineer in charge of mixing the mics was fantastic and really made it an enjoyable experience. Nothing was too loud or soft and you almost forgot the musicians were mic'ed. I'd definitely go again to hear another show but this isn't really a restaurant with music. It's a music venue with refreshments.

The adjacent parking garage was like a maze to drive in and out, so we ended up coming out from different side than we entered. Two elevators took groups of us to the 4th floor. We were attending a private luncheon. The buffet started with bread and fruits. The heated entrees came after. The hot and cold beverages were on the bar tops.

This is a hidden treasure on top of the iPic movie theater - a small music venue with very diverse styles and artists. There’s a bit of a cabaret feel, with three levels of seating. The table seating (behind the premium seats) is the Goldilocks level, more affordable and more comfortable than the row seating behind. The food selection is quite limited, but I like the chicken salad sliders with chips. You can order from a table, but I like to order at the bar, settle my bill, and take it to my seat - eliminates the need to pay during the concert.Try it out - worth a trip!

Would not let the performers do an encore. Never experienced this before. There was plenty of time between sets. They actually called the performers off the stage when they came back on!Waiter did not come by to take our drink order. Had to tell the sound engineer that we couldn't hear one of the musicians. The venue seems to be managed poorly. The performance was excellent thoigh!

First time at AMP. Long-time jazz lovers, mostly at NYC clubs. For the DC area, this is a good choice if you like a bit of space, nice atmosphere, and every seat has a decent view since the stage is raised. (compared to NYC icons which we love but are cramped, very dark, and no 'social distancing' so these days, AMP is a welcome alternative). We had "row" seats but would take "table" seats next time for one big reason: you can't eat in the row section. There's no place to put anything down, much to our dismay as we planned on eating there before the show. Wish I could comment on the menu as it looks good. Also, the seats are too tight together. Ticket prices ($25 - $45) are very reasonable for what you get and supporting the arts. There seemed to be one waitress for the whole room most of the night. Cannot pay by cash with her or at the bar, so be prepared. A few older patrons occasionally had a hard time with the hand-held pay system she used. As for the jazz show, the trio (Loston Harris) was very good but the room is almost too big for a trio. His music and band size is best for a more intimate space, like the Carlyle Hotel where he plays in NYC. That said, he did a good show, very entertaining. The sound system may have made the sax overwhelm the piano at times. The room has large windows, a nice aesthetic, and a bar area off the space, as you first come in. As the bar is separate from the show room, you don't hear any bar/kitchen noise during the show. Parking in the building is easy. Staff was very pleasant. Will gladly return again.

Giving my review solely based on enjoying the venue space-though we didn't particularly care for the specific show we attended. Located in the Pike/Rose Development Building 4th floor- we parked in the parking garage & easily located the AMP Venue because ample signage over doorways, posted signs, and little circles in the elevator. The venue was spacious- our particular event was a 'standing room only' children's event in which parents all laid out blankets on the floor- ample room for groups to sit, while still allowing space for children to dance around. Stage was easy to see no matter where we ended up with the wandering toddler.Staff was helpful trafficking kids to various areas, as well as helping families enter/exit the elevators. We liked the venue-great for families because the easy parking, quick to locate, and easy to get seating- but hoping they offer better shows in the future. Ours claimed to be a one hour show, but was really only about 30mins of entertainment, didn't offer nearly enough music for the kids-too much adult talking narration and tangents-
