Paid tickets for chonkfest and drive over 5 hrs. Submitted our dogs vac records sept 27. My vet said all dogs were up to date. But bark social decided to not tell us they didn’t meet their requirements until we get there. Refused to let us in. Would have been nice if they notified before we drove there but they didn’t. Only email we got was about rabies which they were up to date but wouldn’t let us in due to distemper. Which I don’t understand one dog is under a year old. When I tried to show the manager the email she walked away from me. We were really looking forward to the event but this ruined the trip. Could have been avoided if we were notified promptly. I am sure we would have loved it if we would have got in.
My dogs have never been freer than when at Bark Social. We’ve always had a blast there, but at Chonkfest this year, I had to take my two dogs by myself because my husband was sick in bed. The Bark Social staff saw that one of my dogs was overwhelmed, so they took her into the office where it was quiet and she could be cozy. Then they helped us get to the front of the line for our caricature picture, so we could enjoy that last experience and head out for the pups. Martini & Olive always come back happy and pooped from their time there. And their staff are super considerate and friendly people.

This place is amazing! I’ve been to half a dozen dog park bars and Bark Social Bethesda has been by far the most impressive.
Since it was our first time visiting we got in for free, my dog got a free pup cup, and we got a 10% discount on all beverages.
The place is huge, and has tons of room for running, and plenty of seating options (both on the turf and a large heated & shaded area).
Staff were very friendly, alert, and welcoming. We got a bottle of champagne and were shocked how fancy the presentation was! The food wasn’t great (vegan tacos) but can’t speak on behalf of other options.
Overall, I was very impressed by the presentation, size, and cleanliness—it felt cleaner and more well put together than many bars I’ve been to. We will definitely be back!

Love it here! I come here as often as I can when I’m in the area. The only thing I will say is be prepared for the food to be a small ish portion for what you are paying for. The staff are always nice; and there’s always something fun going on. The only other thing I’ll say is be prepared for the dogs to jump on the tables. There’s high tables but the picnic tables are fair game.

I drove over an hour to hang with my two dogs and 18 year old daughter. They wouldn’t let us in because there were more non alcohol drinkers than alcohol drinkers. It felt terrible to turn around and drive home because we (same group) have been coming for years. I will never go back. Snip from website.

I've come to bark social many times because it's very relaxing compared to normal dog parks. The problem for me is their new policy. I'm 18, but because I'm under 21, this last time we couldn't go. We have two dogs and this new rule meant that we'd have to either leave me or one of our dogs out. We drove over an hour to come and we couldn't enter (even though we could before).
Also I am going to note that this place is expensive and overpriced.
Kid-friendliness: You now have to pay per kid (same as paying to bring a dog in). Also you can only bring 2 "dependents" with you and both dogs and kids (anyone under 21) are counted for that.

Even though the website says folks under 21 are welcome with someone 21+, there is annoying “fine print” that is hard to find on the website. The result was driving over an hour with my 18 year old and 2 dogs. We were turned away after going there for years together.
We love this place for the vibe and the dogs! So don't expect that much from the food!

We didn't eat there. It was a pain to get registered. It is a bit small. The staff were extremely attentive and overall great with the dogs. Our pups had a good time.

Love it even though I don't have a dog. You should visit to have draft beers and enjoy dogs chasing each other. Great concept, great execution.

Great place for your dog if they're sociable and a good time for the owner to relax plus have a chilled margarita.

Bark Social Bethesda is my Happy Place. The atmosphere is relaxed and joyous. In the morning wake up with a custom coffee or celebrate throughout the day with great craft beers on tap, frozen creations in the summer or something spicy and warm in the cooler months. New items are added to the Cafe menu all the time. Best of all bring along your 4 legged best buddy (or come by yourself) because there are plenty of pets to go around, as dogs frolic. You will be smiling before you know it. There is no cover charge for humans. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Also, check out their fun events, movies, trivia and community fundraisers. I had been looking for a place to have my fur baby’s 10th birthday party! I stumbled across Bark Social and seamlessly booked his party. The entire process from start to finish was easy and the staff was super helpful! Considering they offer little bites and bar food, I wasn’t sure what to expect food wise. I was pleasantly surprised! They had a variety of options. We had tacos, chicken tenders and pretzel bites - everything was good! We also had the mimosa tower and that was tasty as well! My normally shy and timid furbaby had a blast and will probably be in his bed resting the next 2 days LOL We chose a party package in which we could have 8 human guests and we paid for the day passes for our 4-legged guests. We also added the dog-friendly birthday cake and Mimosa tower. We are SO happy to have chosen Bark Social to commemorate this special birthday! We will definitely be back!

Great outdoor bar and your gog can roam freely. Occasionally they have vendors on the side selling their handmade goods. The food selection is very good for bar food.
