Biryani City

Ordered from here the other night!
I got the saag paneer. I ordered "Indian-Very Very Spicy," level, which is their spiciest.

So my spicy tolerance is pretty high. I tap out between habanero to ghost pepper level...it was spicy but it was tolerable. You know when you get an extra, oddly spicy jalapeno? I would compare it to that. You'll get a kick, then it fades really fast.
That said, the spice didn't play or complement with the flavors of the saag paneer. The spice was fine but was more a capsaicin experience and not something that interacted with other flavors, instead of bring out other flavors of the tastes it was just spicy.

For that reason I wouldn't get that level of spice again just so I could experience the saag paneer better...all that aside, this was the MOST generous place I've had with paneer, loaded with them tasty cubes! And came with such a generous portion of rice on the side! I am pleased and would order again.

UPDATE: Ordered again a couple of nights ago! This time I notched down the spice level of the saag paneer so I could appreciate the saag more. It's floral with a hint of perhaps cardamom or cinnamon? I'm not sure what it is but it's good with pleasant spicy heat coming after. Came nice and warm with the same very generous portion of rice.
Also got raita, very tasty and fresh. I finished everything which is rare for me

I have to say i have mixed feelings about this restaurant. When we walked in, we were greeted and service was great with good ambiance. Now comes the important part of why we went there…FOOD. Yes it sucks. We ordered gobi fry which was not bad. Both palak panneer and Malai kofta were ATROCIOUS. Straight from heated frozen food it feels like. Then we got chicken biriyani takeout for our daughter. It is was also awfull with no flavor whatsoever. Very disappointed.

What makes us mad even further was restaurant’s attempt to rate them when paying bill and forcing us to give a rating on the spot. We declined as we want to see how is biriyani. Posting our thoughts now… STAY AWAY

Amazing food!! We dined in, but soon realized they primary do takeout, since There are only three tables in the restaurant. Also all of the silverware / plates were disposable, and all of the dishes came out to go containers. Because of this, it’s not really a dine-in experience better for takeout, but the food was so delicious!!!

Food was absolutely delicious, good portions. I had the chicken bone-in Biryani, Butter Naan, a Goat appetizer, sweet gulan jamon type dessert.

Atmosphere: The dining room was closed😬 however, there are about 3 to 4 tables available to sit and eat. Yes, order your food at the counter, and try and grab a seat or take it to go. Not sure if this is a permanent thing.

Super biriyani-- no one else can beat it. We ordered chicken biriyani, goat biriyani, and chicken tikka tandoor. Desserts are made in house and are delicious. We routinely cater from them. Great customer service.

Great place for takeout. Food is great and the staff are very nice. Not a lot of seating though. I think they closed the seating area during COVID and really have opened a couple of tables now. But, the food is really good.
