The food is very good. I was incredibly impressed by the service and overall quality of the food. The ambiance is weird. It is almost like a food court in how it's set up. Regardless, the food we got was incredible and they were very attentive to us when we went. Their gyoza is fantastic and their sashimi just melts in your mouth.

I have been here a couple times and found their sushi very fresh. That they often have delicious Uni is a plus. The only gripe I have is that the sashimi cuts come more as chunks than thin slices but that's a stylistic thing.

I went to patroize OMA Sushi & Oyster Bar located in The Block Food Hall in Bethesda MD.I ordered the Lovers Roll and a Pork Gyoza there was an Asian lady on the register and ignored me because she was on a call on speaker till finally I said are you going to take my order? Finally she took my order but rung in the wrong item I advised her maybe if you weren’t on the phone you would have heard me the first time and keyed it in correctly.I waited for my food to come out and when it did a cook from the back had his bare hands NO GLOVES ON touching my Pork Gyoza dumplings. The Sushi was covered but I noticed afterwards when I went back to take my empty food tray that the sushi guy making the sushi didn’t have on any gloves either. The world we live in this is very unsanitary to say the least. Me being a Chef hates to see the lack of integrity for food and professional.I asked her to take them off she offered to remake it but at this point I just didn’t trust it because he seemed very comfortable handling the food with no gloves the way he did. She gave me a full refund.I probably won’t go back because every food stall is Asian with the exception of Little Miner Taco and all the Asian outlets all use ONE KITCHEN! So didn’t leave a good taste in my mouth to go back seeing this first hand.

Sushi Oma is a booth in The Block at Pike & Rose. The staff were friendly, the sushi was good. Too much waste with all the packaging, as there was no dine-in option. The vibe of the place is young/party...too much for my middle-aged self. I would eat the sushi again, but I would not go back to The Block by choice. There are many other good sushi spots.

I'm not quite sure what the hype is. Sure the sushi is good but it's not great. It's sit down restaurant quality prices but a little bit better than take out. There want anything distinctive in terms of quality, taste, or style. They have skewers but that's really easy to find in Japanese restaurants nowadays. Good but not great.

This place is a decent sushi place. Its very unassuming and competes with other vendors. It is not what would come to mind when looking for an Omakase. I was a little skeptical and with the high price tag as those are fine dining prices. (119/person). As it was our anniversary, i decided to pull the trigger and hope.I was rewarded with one of the best meals I've had in the last 10 years or more. This would have given Makotos a run for its money back in the day. I'm absolutely shocked that a chef of this skill is at this place.Looking for an Omakase, this place will amaze you. My only issue which really wasn't an issue was the chef did not speak great english so his description of each dish was limited but every course was absolutely delicious. Hence, I was not exactly sure what I was eating but i know i liked it. I also knew he clearly understood our restrictions. I'm not sure what they do if there is more than 6 people in your party for the Omakase.

We drove 45 minutes to have the Omakase here to celebrate 11 years of marriage. Make sure to call to make a reservation if you want the Omakase too. It's expensive but very worth it! The flavors were novel and incredible, the presentation was so cool and memorable. It was the right amount of food, I was full but not uncomfortably. Oma gets the importance of good, well prepared rice. Too many sushi places make awful rice and should be ashamed. Not the case here! Parking was ok, drove around a bit before we found a garage. Service was great and attentive. It was very loud in there so fairly hard to hear the chef. The lighting wasn't great so the pictures are the best I could do. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of the Nigiri course! Definitely a great way to celebrate.

Had the crab Rangoon, eel, spicy tuna, and lovers roll. The food was very fresh and prepared well. This was definitely the best sushi I've eaten in a while. The staff was very nice, too.

Finally an Omakase Sushi spot in Rockville that gives you a 12-14 course delicious assortment of fresh quality japanese dishes! Sushi Oma is quite a great choice if you would like to experience a sit down, or take out, full course Omakase meal that is unique and flavorful. The service was top notch since you have a view of the chef making his creations and various techniques of preparation. You should call ahead and reserve a seat to give them a little notice, if you would like to have a try of their Omakase chef's choice meal, I called 45 mins beforehand. Otherwise, you can just walk-in as any usual Sushi restaurant and have a great meal, if you would like to order a la carte, as usual. Both the Chef "Andrew" and the manager were very attentive and we were pleased with the welcoming greeting from our host. Sushi Oma is located at "The Block" at Pike and Rose which is a quaint eatery in a very popular shopping district with plenty of parking and great retail stores you won't find anywhere else in the North Bethesda/Rockville area.

Most definitely one of the best sushi spots Ive tried. My order was ready very quickly. The fish was fresh and full of flavor. I ordered 9 different items and every one was on point. This is a must try place!

Had carry out from Sushi Oma and it was delicious! Our order was ready for pick up in a reasonable amount of time and the pick up process was fast and easy. I had two specialty rolls (the crispy spicy tuna roll and the golden roll). They were both incredible, probably the best special rolls I've had from anywhere! I also had a spicy tuna roll which was excellent. Will definitely be back soon to try more of the menu!

We decided to make the drive to Sushi Oma to enjoy lunch. We've been here before and enjoyed our food so much that we decided to come back and try more things on the menu. The atmosphere was quaint and cute with a bar area to sit and watch as they prepare the sushi and other food.Service was great and each dish was brought out quickly. We ordered the edamame, miso soup, vegetable goyza, shrimp tempura appetizer, chicken yakitori, beef yakitori, the crunchy fire roll, shrimp tempura roll, and a cream cheese and cucumber roll. Our favorite were the chicken and beef yakitori. Both were flavorful and tender. Everything tasting amazing except for the vegetable goyza. It was flavorful but it needed more filling. They deflated after one bite. Great food and service overall. My only other feedback would be for them to have actual glassware, bowls for the soups, and silverware to accompany the plates instead of plastic utensils, coffee cups for drinks, and plastic to go bowls for the soup.We definitely will head there when we are in the area again.
