We have visited this bakery twice in the past couple of years. Very nice selections of baked goods, with outstanding fresh flavor and texture. This is definitely a worthwhile stop, with a friendly staff and a wide array of baked goods to satisfy you sweet tastes. Highly recommended, just southeast of Oakland, MD.

I rented a large lake house for the weekend in the Deep Creek Lake area with my family to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. I ordered a custom cake from sugar and spice earlier in the week. I believe I spoke with Katie. She was very patient and helpful in selecting what would be the best fit for our needs. We ended up with a vanilla cake with fresh strawberry buttercream frosting. Yes, the frosting had bits of fresh strawberries in it! When I went to pick up the cake, I said hello to the cows in the back before going in the storefront. Everyone was so friendly. Now, for the main event...the cake itself looked simple yet elegant and beautiful. We all agreed that it was one of the tastiest cakes we'd had in a long time, very obviously crafted with love. All in all, it was the perfect cake to celebrate 50 years of my parents union.
