“Visiting family from out of state and ordered take-out. Realized after we left that one of the items was incorrect. Called to let them know and they were Super gracious, acknowledged the mistake and not only fixed the error but went above & beyond, making extra and adding an extra chips & salsa. Food was delicious & worth every penny! Will definitely be eating there again when we visit.”

“We just dined at Dutch's at Silver Tree, and all I can say is WOW! Sarah C was our charming, attentive waitress and she was very thorough and on top of the things. Perfect service, amazing food! I had bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer, and the crab imperial for dinner. So good! My partner had the filet, which is hand cut in house. Num, num! We ate al fresco, and enjoyed watching everyone interact, and the action on three lake. 5 Stars!”

“I was working in the area and the customer provided their barbecued chicken lunch and I cannot remember eating better chicken EVER! Lunch came with the entire left side of the chicken baked beans and Mac and cheese. I thought there was no way I could eat all of the chicken but I did along with the baked beans which were in my top 3, didn’t make it to the Mac but it looked good. Will probably eat there again tomorrow for lunch.”

“Stopped by the Cabin Lodge Grill on a whim Sunday afternoon and what a treat it was! We were famished after spending a few hours in Swallow Falls State Park, and wanted to grab something to eat.

We had the cheesesteak eggrolls, mac and cheese, veggie burger, French fries and two bottled drinks for $40. It may seem pricey for a roadside grill however the food was absolutely incredible. The veggie burger blew me away, making up for a terrible one I had the night before at Ace's Run. It was crispy, seasoned well and had different vegetables inside without anything overwhelming the flavor. And the French fries... holy smokes! They were so good. Nice and brown, perfect amount of salt and a huge portion for only $5. The cheesesteak eggrolls were unique and definitely something we will try to recreate at home.

Swing by sometime, you won't regret eating at the Cabin Lodge Grill!”

“Cool spot with such great potential! I would go there again, but only for the beer. the food was bland & mediocre. serving sizes are way small. a side of fries is only $3, yay, but you only get like 4 fries. not yay. they do offer live music which I loveeee and in the summer they have outdoor seating! major plus for me. but like I said, i’ll only be drinking beer next time….cause they don’t have any signature cocktails.”

“Adorable ice cream shop! Be forewarned - the sizes are gigantic!!! We got a medium soft serve in a cup and it was huge. The large is like a Big Gulp cup of ice cream. We had quite the shock! Ice cream was delicious and prices are ridiculously cheap. We will definitely be back!”

“My family goes to the Lakeside creamery at least four times every summer. The ice cream there is just so delicious, and the atmosphere is great. There is always a line because of how delicious the ice cream is, but the line moves quite fast.

Parking: The Lakeside Creamery has two options for parking: cars or boats. If you want to drive there in your car, there are always at least 2-6 open parking spaces. If you want to stop there in the middle of your boat trip, there is a rather large dock with about 12 dock slips. However, 10 of those are only for boats under about 23 feet. If you have a large boat, I would recommend parking on the edge farthest out to the lake. if there are no open spots, you should only need to wait about five minutes for a boat to pull out.

Ice Cream Flavors: There are always about 24 flavors at a time. this means that you will definitely have something you like. Also, the flavors switch out about once every two weeks, only keeping the most commonly flavors. However, they do eventually cycle back to all past flavors. The ice cream is paid for by the ounce and comes with a free homemade waffle cone!

Other options: If you don't want a scoop, you can get a sundae, a smoothie, or a pint.

“Delightful artisan coffee shop, just what Oakland was missing. We got the caramel pumpkin latte, hazelnut cortado, and a gingerbread scone; all were as good as any we’ve had. Not too sweet, plus the sweetener was homemade by the owner. An instant staple in the community.”

“We hired Jean and the crew at Traders Coffee to provide breakfast for 100 over two days at a local resort. We were not disappointed! Jean made sure that it all ran very smoothly, the variety of items, the freshness, the taste...all fantastic. My employees had nothing but great things to say about it and after the first day were so happy to learn she would be back with more goodies the following morning. Do yourself a favor and stop by, order catering, do takeout but don't miss this place. Say hello to Jean from the group at Everest!”

“Stopped in for brunch on Sunday morning. Service was excellent, we were seated and served quickly even though it was packed. We got pancakes and two burgers, the patties were really well seasoned and the fries were super crispy. Everything was delicious, I'd definitely recommend!!”

“Firewater’s atmosphere and location is great! We drove a little over an hour to eat here. However, we were pretty disappointed in the service. We went on Sunday afternoon and dined at “Sophie’s” table. Things were overall okay, some menu knowledge would have been helpful. However, she let us know at the end of our dining experience (with 5 people) that she couldn’t split the checks. She said it was impossible for her. She told us that we should have had to let her know in the beginning. It was our first time there so we had no idea. Unfortunately there wasn’t anything on the menu to let us know either. When we expressed our confusion, we were ignored. Overall, we thought firewater was great food and had an awesome atmosphere. We will definitely try again to hopefully have a better experience with a different server. Firewater definitely deserves to have someone represent this locally owned spot.”

“Outstanding food and marvelous service. So glad we discovered that this place was open. We hadn’t been there since it was originally the Cornish Manor. We travel from Canaan Valley to shop in Oakland and this was a delightful spot to finish our trip!”

“I order take-out and delivery pretty often and have sat down in-store to eat on occasion. The food is hot and fresh and is typically ready to serve fairly fast. Delivery can take a while on high volume days as they are one of two pizza locations that deliver in the area, but they are upfront on the wait time and have, from time to time, received my delivery well before the estimated 40 minutes. Staff is typically polite and pleasant to speak with.

Parking: Parking is a little awkward, but as there typically isn't much long- staying business in the building, there's usually plenty of space.”

“1st time I stayed here. It couldn't have been nicer! Rooms were extremely clean and looked newly renovated. The owner (miss kitty) was so nice. Food at the saloon was very good and service was fantastic. Will definitely be returning in the future.”

“We had a great meal here. Three of us shared a deep dish uno pizza. It was tasty a good size for us. If all three people were big eaters I’d recommend a large. I love deep dish pizza but it’s hard to find done right and it was here. I had tiramisu for dessert and it was excellent.

The staff was all friendly and our server was efficient. Luckily we were there for lunch and it was kind of slow so they were seating everyone with a view of the lake. We also walked out back after to take it all in up close which was nice. It was a great experience and we will for sure be back. We drive through the area a couple times a year.”
