We had just arrived in ocean City and our hotel told us they had a great happy hour. It was 5 min walking distance. It was very busy, we had no problem getting a table. Our waiter was very attentive, brought us our drinks and food in no time.

Location is nice; right on the water. Indoor seating is open to the outside, so it's hot everywhere.. Service wasn't terrible but wasnt great. Staff were friendly, just not attentive. Crabby fries appetizer was good. Entrees were not. Their Mac & cheese doesn't have cheese. Just noodles and a very thin sauce. The whole thing was dry and flavorless. Shrimp tacos were meh- pineapple in them was raw/sour and the pico was 90% onion. Wouldn't recommend.

Cobb salad was upcharged $4 for grilled chicken? Cobb salad has grilled chicken so was confused about the slithered chicken breast (thin) upcharge? Adjust the price as it appears as an under-handed move for extra $$. Otherwise, was good but, won't return. Too many great options in OC.

Stopped in for dinner. We had to wait, it was extremely busy, however the food was great and the service was even better.

We got here early so there was no wait. Very good food! Got the crabby fries as an appetizer and they were very nice. We all got different meals; angler crab cake, wings, imperial shrimp, imperial crab, seafood fettuccine, hangover smash burger, and burger tacos. No complaints! Very hot inside though so be prepared for that.

Very poor service and rude waitress. Denied my wife and I from drinking after having our address, ID, Birthday checked by multiple people. The owner said he “believes we’re 21” and still refused service. Very odd place and an experience I’ve never encountered ever in my life. I hardly even write reviews even when service is mediocre. Waitress also has a strange attitude. We’re very friendly people and have never had any problems with any other restaurant or bar in this town and in any place we’ve ever been. Very shocking attempted dining experience.

Server izzy was very friendly and kept our drinks filled and table clean. Shrimp imperial tasted great with the jasmine rice. N.Y. steak was cooked to right temp and tasted great. Bbq wings were large size wings and perfect

Came to The Angler for a solo birthday lunch. Asked to be seated at the bar & was told that was fine only to see the bartender not serving my side of the bar at all. I was the only person on my side while everyone else was on the other side so maybe she didn’t see me. I waited about 15 minutes when I decided to go back to the hostess stand & just ask to be seated in hopes that I could finally place an order. I am seated & told that an Emily would be by to help me. I ordered a drink & their angler crab cake. I ask if it’s on a roll of some sort to which I’m told it’s on a ciabatta bread & served like a sandwich, perfect. My food comes out & the moment I take a bite into the “sandwich” it completely falls apart, ruining my dress & entire meal as its now a clump of food on my lap. Emily approaches me & sees what’s happened; her only response is “well do you want some more napkins?” As she can see that I do have napkins & am trying to save my dress from the oil & butter. At this point I’m completely over the lack of consideration from the staff. All I was trying to do was enjoy my birthday with a martini & some seafood & I felt disregarded the entire time.

Went with family who loves seafood. I do not do seafood. The chicken fettuccine wasn't bad. But hey it isn't a chicken spot. Sitting by the water is unmatched. Especially in the evening when the lights come on!

It’s rare I have such an unexpected delightful, (outside of the norm) dining experience- but I did tonight, here. I had the seafood linguini, oysters, IPA’s, and watched the sun slowly going down. Sara, was great as my server- attentive and helpful, not hovering at all. I observed her and other staff, to see how they seemed bc I was pretty impressed by everything here (ambiance food vibe etc) and everyone seems happy, working here. I can tell when ppl are faking it (I like to think at least) also, and staff seemed chill. It was such a nice experience. I then saw a memorial picture of a bartender that apparently worked here for many heard and died recently- suddenly - in May. I was both touched, that they had a picture and a nice remembrance to her, and grateful, because it was obvious she was great and very important to ppl here/ what a great employer, to honor her. And to honor employees’ grief. So, I asked about her. I heard all about her and how wonderful she was, how much she is deeply missed. And it just touched me. I already loved this place… this, put it over the edge of the place I’d highly recommend visiting, the human / personal touch, beyond just a restaurant on the water. This feels like a great place. And the place I loved.. visited right before? (Oldest bar in Ocean City, hole in the wall) they highly recommended it when they heard I was looking for good food, view, and a chill place. I am so glad they did. If it’s between here and other dinner places along the water/ hope this review helps. Enjoy! 5 plus stars.
