Drive by this place on my way to work and i’m only disappointed that I didn’t stop by sooner. Delicious Food and even better service!!! The crab mac and cheese, 1/2 rack of ribs and cornbread were amazing. The bartender TG (Sorry if I spelt it wrong) took excellent care and provided amazing recommendations. Will definitely be visiting again!!!

I had the brisket sandwich, and it was amazing. The meat was tender and juicy, and the bread was perfectly toasted. The fries were crispy and delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were reasonable.

Stopped in Mackies to try their BBQ for the first time as planning for a catered BBQ event. We tried the pull chicken, sliced brisket, and pull pork, as well as four sides. The pulled pork was excellent. The smoked chicken had absolutely no flavor--tasted like pulled boiled chicken. The brisket was flavorful with a small smoke ring but was tough and dry. Had trouble cutting it with the plastic knife. All four sides were very good--mac and cheese, cole slaw, potatoes salad, and baked beans. Overall, we were disappointed--we will be catering our event with one of the other area BBQ places that we know has better food. Also note we placed a call to Mackies Catering and never received a return call--I guess they don't want the business.

I'm so glad I stumbled upon Mackie's. The barbecue was some of the best I've ever had. The pulled pork was so tender and flavorful, and the sauce was the perfect finishing touch. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed, and the staff was very friendly.

What an experience. I came into this place with low expectations due to previously having a lot of in kansas city and texas BBQ; but WOW did the food amaze. The manager and the waitress had amazing customer service very nice very helpful in terms of my few questions. I cannot recommend this place anymore if you’re in the area. I live in Virginia and would most definitely come back just for this place.

Cute place. I have been wanting to try this place forever, both my parents and I went on a Wednesday afternoon around 2 pm. The place was empty. It took more time then I would have thought to get the attention of staff in the kitchen. We ordered two pulled pork sandwiches one with the famous sea salt frys. One with potato salad. As well as a pulled pork nachos.
The food came in a short time. The pulled pork nachos were huge. The pulled pork sandwiches were average sized, it was good but nothing special
. The potato salad was really delicious. Like nothing I have ever had...
The sea salt frys were an issue about half of them were ice cold and old, the other half of the frys were very hot. It was very odd to me to mix fresh hot frys with old cold one. The frys had zero seasoning on them sea salt or otherwise. I looked for someone to help. No one was around. I really wanted to like this place. This visit was a total flop. Only because it's a local business and I love bbq, I believe I will try it one more time.

10/10 would recommend! The Amarillo fries were AMAZING!! They come with a delicious ranch/mayo that makes them even better. The fries don’t taste like your regular cheap fries, they actually taste pretty good! Lemonade was delicious too. I would have like a tap water but they gave me a bottle, I guess it’s ok. Not my best pictures but we were so hungry!

It's okay for a road side place. I wouldn't seek this place out, exactly but they were there and convenient.

I'm a NC barbuce fan so this place isn't for me when it comes to bbq.

The other choices seemed good. The Mac and cheese was good.

Every visit to Mackie's is a delight! The smoked meats are always perfectly cooked and seasoned, especially the brisket and ribs. The sides are fresh and flavorful, with the coleslaw and baked beans being my favorites. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, making it a great place to gather with friends and family. The service is consistently excellent, and the prices are fair. this is the ultimate BBQ spot!

Very over priced for not the best quality of food. Also the drinks are very expensive and not tasty. Mistake getting crab dip from a bbq place. Definitely will not be coming back.
