Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar

This was my second time at Hook & Reel, and while my first visit was at the Bowie location, the one in Owings Mills completely blew it out of the water. The seasoning at this spot is elite. Honestly, it holds its own against Hot and Juicy Crawfish, which has always been my top seafood spot.

Everything about this experience was a 10 out of 10, especially the service. Our bartender Kenny also happened to be our server, and he did a phenomenal job. Even while bartending, he still made sure we were taken care of. On top of that, three or four other servers checked in on us throughout the night to make sure we had everything we needed. I really appreciated the teamwork and how focused everyone was on making sure we had a great experience.

We started with the Passionfruit Sunrise, which Kenny recommended, and it was so good we ended up ordering three. My boyfriend had the Voodoo Lemonade and really enjoyed that too. For appetizers, we got the breadsticks, mozzarella sticks, and oysters. The oysters were a definite highlight — flavorful, steamed just right, and covered in all the sauces. If you’re an oyster fan, you won’t be disappointed.

I ordered a crab boil and added noodles, sausage, and eggs with the Hook & Reel seasoning blend. Everything was incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly.

I honestly can’t wait to come back, but I’d only return to this location. They hit every mark: food, drinks, and service. Highly recommend.

Love this place! If you like seafood, this should be your go to! The food was fresh and the service was quick and fantastic. We went as a big group and it was easy to get a big spot in the corner. We even took the kids and they loved it. My kids loved the baskets they had with fried fish, calamari and fries. It came with a seafood bisque that was delicious too. I got the mussel and crawfish boil. They give you gloves so that your hands don't get dirty and smelly. There was so much seafood in my boil and it came with potatoes and corn too. I also liked that I could get bubble tea here! I had not had bubble tea with seafood boil before and it is surprisingly an awesome combo! I highly recommend this spot and can't wait to come back.
