Starbucks at National Harbor is a happening spot. While on a week-long vacation to National Harbor, it seemed like if Starbucks was open, it was crowded. The staff was always hard at work and super busy. The drinks were as to be expected at any Starbucks. If you need a reliable coffee spot in the area, Starbucks is the place to be.

I would like to report a very unpleasant and offensive experience I had at one this store: Store #24494 – 167 Waterfront Street, Oxon Hill, MD - Date and Time: May 10th, 2025

I was attending the International Telecoms Week (ITW), a major global business event hosted in National Harbor, and stopped at the Starbucks nearby to have breakfast. While ordering, I gave my name (“Flavia”), and as I waited, the barista calling out the drinks made a mocking face and mispronounced my name loudly, followed by a visible gesture of disapproval. When I approached the counter and politely asked what name he had called (to confirm if the drink was mine), he refused to respond. I asked again, and he aggressively extended his arm toward my face with the cup and shouted “Tall Latte,” in a very rude and humiliating manner, in front of many other customers.

Shortly after, while I was sitting and waiting for my sandwich, the same employee came out from behind the counter, touched me on the shoulder, and loudly said, “Don’t ever disrespect me again, understood?” I was shocked, intimidated, and deeply embarrassed. I had never disrespected him — in fact, it was clear I was being mistreated because of my name and nationality. As someone who is not a native English speaker, I felt mocked and completely unwelcome.

A shift manager came out and asked me what had happened, and I explained the situation calmly. I appreciated her effort to check on me, but the employee continued making rude gestures and comments even after that, worsening the emotional impact of the moment.

I am requesting that this incident be properly reviewed and that the security camera footage from May 10th, 2025 at around 9:30 AM be checked. This is not just about poor service — this is about xenophobia, disrespect, and harassment inside one of your stores, during a major international event.

I have attached a photo of my receipt as proof of my presence at that time and location. I hope Starbucks will take this seriously and ensure accountability.

They closing 30 minutes early, they put chairs up 30 minutes early so you can't sit down,.if they don't want to work those hours work at a different starbucks.

WORST STARBUCKS EVER!!!!

Bad customer service. Staff members are not polite. The drink tasted bad. I order a caramel frap. My niece ordered the same thing, and hers was completely white. They forgot to add the coffee. When she asked them they just took it from her hand and the lady dropped it. She didn't apologize or nothing. Very rude staffing.

Order for pickup around 8am today. Upon arrival I waited an additional 40 minutes for my complete order. Most of the staff is always pleasant. But it takes a longtime to receive orders, the items are placed anywhere on the counter, not in any order according to name and the music is EXTREMELY loud to the point where you cannot hear your name or order. The music should not be so loud that you have to yell to speak to the staff. I know this a busy location but please look at adding a few tweeks to address the reoccurring issues.

I recently visited this starbucks and had a rather frustrating experience. I ordered my drink online, which I thought would make the process smooth. However, before picking it up, I needed to use the restroom. To my surprise, the staff member I approached was incredibly rude and informed me that the restrooms is not public , despite the fact that I had already placed my order. Even the drink that I ordered was so bad. I had been visiting that location multiple times but had never experienced this bad experience. I also know that there is free public restroom next to Starbucks.

I found this policy to be ridiculous and quite inconsiderate, especially since I was already a paying customer. It left a sour taste in my mouth and made me feel unwelcome. I understand the need for certain policies, but a little kindness and understanding would go a long way in customer service. Unfortunately, this experience has made me rethink my visits to this Starbucks in the future. I suggest to put some code in the receipt for the restroom.

Saturday morning at Katsucon, crazy busy lines and online ordered. Staff were super friendly on top of their job getting orders out as fast as possible. It felt like Tay was running the team and it was a well oiled machine. Kudos to everyone working there!

I get you’re busy not mad at that. But how you give me one drink and make me wait 20 min for the next. Who make orders half done. Get it together. It’s not a worker thing it’s a management problem.

Stopped here for a quick coffee on the way back to the convention. The staff was really nice and inviting. Just like to give credit where credit is due.

Went during a convention. Ordered an iced venti brown sugar oatmilk espresso. Without asking for extra ice, they iced my drink all the way to the top of the cup! FYI, ice is only supposed to go to top measuring line. After all, you need to taste some of the drink you paid $8 for.

Didn’t bring it up then and there since I didn’t want a confrontation but Starbucks online customer service was awesome in securing a refund.
