I was here for a wedding a few weeks ago. The director of events or whoever she is treated the guests like she didn’t want us there. The roof was leaking on us as we walked in. The bride was stressed out the entire time. Poor thing! I do NOT recommend.

We traveled in from London to attend our brother’s wedding at this venue on May 24th 2024 it was horrible. They caused extreme delays to the program start time and created alot of chaos for everyone with ridiculous last minute requests. The location is good, but for a great experience, I would not recommend.

I attended an event on May 24th, the bathrooms were nasty, they had an employee or director breathing down the guests necks, she had other people doing a site tour while we were there. I felt so bad for the bride. I don’t know how they don’t have more negative reviews. Please beware!

I can’t speak to the restaurant experience but for our event it was a horrible experience. Management needs to change - rude and inflexible. They caused us a great deal of stress once they got our payment. Roof leaks on our guests, air conditioning not working, site tours during our paid for wedding time! I do NOT recommend.

I felt incredibly bad for the bride. They obviously didn’t want us there. Delayed start time, extremely hot (broken air conditioner), disgusting bathroom, awfully rude Director of events. I wish I could give them a 0 out of 4. If management has changed over the last year, please fix it because for the location, this should NOT be the experience of guests.

Beautiful View but horrible management, we catered for a wedding event at this location and it was the most terrible experience I've ever encountered in my decades of experience in catering for events. They tried to cancel us when the bride and groom were ready to enter the event, they requested us to add them to our auto insurance before they'll allow the event to start. these folks don't even have parking space available for us and yet they want us to provide one thing after another. the event was delayed for several hours because they were asking for stupid documentations one after the other, most of the documents were not even on the contract. I will not go there again and I don't recommend you do. ZERO STAR.

I am writing on behalf of my clients to express our profound disappointment with the management of The Sunset Room on their wedding day, May 24, 2024. As their wedding planner, I witnessed firsthand several issues that significantly impacted their special day.

First and foremost, our approved vendors were inexplicably denied entry to the venue. Despite submitting standard insurance documents that are accepted everywhere and have been used by vendors frequently at this venue, they faced undue resistance. Management stood outside the loading area all morning, refusing entry until eleven additional requirements were added to the COI. Even when the correct COIs came in from the catering staff, they were denied due to oversight. This caused significant delays, with vendors standing around for four hours before being allowed entry. I have pictures documenting this. In a particularly inconsiderate move, my clients were told to go to nearby restaurants to order food, despite having already invested so much in their special day. This not only caused undue stress for the couple but also disrupted the timeline of our meticulously planned day.

Additionally, management conducted a walkthrough of the venue with potential clients while we were in the midst of setting up. This blatant disregard for the couple's privacy and the sanctity of their wedding day was both intrusive and highly unprofessional. It felt as though their wedding was nothing more than an inconvenience to your business operations.

Furthermore, we were informed of several additional policy requirements on the day of the wedding that resulted in unexpected charges. These requirements were not communicated to us in advance and felt like an unfair burden placed on the couple at the last minute. This lack of transparency and coordination is unacceptable and caused unnecessary stress.

Moreover, there was a water leak that needed immediate repair in the hallway. The building engineers were sent to fix it with a very loud vacuum during the ceremony, further disrupting the event.

The culmination of these actions left the couple feeling unwelcome and undervalued. It seemed evident that they were not the clientele The Sunset Room is willing to accommodate. This sentiment is particularly hurtful on a day that was meant to be filled with joy and celebration.

Despite sending a letter to the persons responsible for these issues, we received no reply or apology. While upper management did respond promptly and generously refunded the deposit, the experience was marred by brutal and hateful treatment from beginning to end. Adding insult to injury, my clients were required to complete a W-9 form to get their deposit back, meaning they will have to pay taxes on their own money.

I hope you take these concerns seriously before holding your event here. The management team needs to work towards improving their customer service and management practices. No other couple should have to endure what my clients did on what should have been the happiest day of their lives.

I recently attended an event at The Sunset Room at National Harbor, and it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. During the ceremony, we were horrified to discover a leaky ceiling. Maintenance staff had to come in with ladders and tools, disrupting the entire event. To make matters worse, they turned off the AC on that side of the venue to prevent further leaking, leaving us sweltering in the heat. It was uncomfortable and embarrassing. I would not recommend The Sunset Room for any event. Their lack of preparedness and poor maintenance ruined what should have been a special day.

This event space needs an upgrade of routine attendance/maintenance for the restrooms - definitely the women's lacking hand soap: there is none within the built-in dispensers. This has been the case EVERY time I've attended an event at this venue.

This is a great intimate venue for conferences with amazing food, a great view and location, and abundant natural light. However, it's not without its faults. The trash collection was inadequate. A standard bathroom stall had a bizarre lifted seat and a damaged door without a hook for my suit jacket. See pictures.

Ask them to call it for a while beforehand and you will be fine. Great stuff and eagerness to help. Originally outside and they commentated us and worked to make both venues work.
