First time here and the experience was great.
Excellent place for seafood at the National Harbor. Friendly and accommodating staff.
keep in mind that the lobster roll is a warm butter, connecticut style roll which was SUPER disappointing when I had the expectations set that it would be a nice cold roll with some warm butter drizzled or added to the side.
oysters were delicious and flavorful, but pretty small in size. menu was pretty pricy for the amount of food given. I will say, although I was disappointed in the lobster roll, the amount of lobster that they give was very satisfying- they pack the roll with a ton of meat.
loved the Walrus-based / oceanic atmosphere. and yes, this restaurant is based off of Lewis Carrol’s Walrus and the Carpenter Story
I loved everything about my visit. Muhammad was the best. His jokes were hilarious. He was very engaging and never crossed the line to being annoying. He made excellent recommendations for both drinks and entrees. I ordered the branzino and got it blackened based on Muhammad’s recommendation and it was some of the best fish I’ve ever had. The green beans and fennel were tender and well seasoned.
Thanks but no thanks. Spoke with manager Syndey to try to explain a huge cash tip was given to our server, but gratuity was added to the bill. Stealing is a crime and for what the prices are there, they definitely don't need to steal from customers. Thanks Syndey for not removing the gratuity you stole from your customer.
Wonderful service, great interior design, food was phenomenal, and you can’t beat the location!
I really tried to love this place. I even came back with the family this past weekend to give it another shot, but we were all disappointed. From the service to the food, it was just bad. When we sat, it took our server quite some time to come to our table. We ordered drinks, and some came out while he forgot the rest. Our cokes tasted like diet coke, and they were just awful. Although we asked for replacements, they still tasted bad. Another note was that my boyfriend ordered a bourbon neat, and his bourbon came back cloudy with specs of something inside of it. It was nasty! The glasses were disgustingly dirty and unacceptable. We finally ordered our appetizers and were excited to try them out. Let me just say the fried oysters and the deviled eggs were quite good. The oysters were fried perfectly, and the eggs had great flavor. However, the tuna tartare was awful, and it was not even bright pink and more of a grey and odd color. It was definitely not fresh, and I'm quite shocked they even served it. For the mains, we ordered the caesar salad, the lobster roll, chips & fish, and the crabcake sandwich. The salad was ice cold, where just biting into the lettuce hurt your teeth (this was odd because the previous time I had it here, it was wonderful). My mom really enjoyed the chips & fish, and it seemed to be fried to perfection. The lobster roll was okay, and my brother seemed to think it was good, yet definitely not the best in town. As for the crab cake sandwich, my boyfriend seemed to think it was not great and contained a lot of filler. Needless to say, I think that was the last visit we would do to the Walrus Oyster & Ale House. The reason for the 2 stars was from previous experience where we sat at the bar, and the staff was great!

All in all, this was a very decent place and they had a lot of great choices on the menu - just like the rest of DC the food is just not that great compared to other cities - I did have fun at this restaurant though, and it’s in a good part of town

An outstanding dining experience. From the incredible deviled eggs topped with fried oysters appetizers to the broiled crab cake (no filler!) and asparagus entree the meal was wonderful.
