The restaurant Is set in the woods with a beautiful patio meet the C&O towpath and the Billy Goat Trail. We often go to th back yard bar where there is usually live music. There is an added bonus of it being dog friendly. When you go here you immediately feel like you are on vacation and DC is a million miles a way. The short trip out Clara Barton to MacArthur Blvd is well worth it and the drive itself is scenic.

Overall a pretty good place; the food is high quality, with decent portion sizes to boot. Its also near the C&O Canal and great falls. so the view is amazing, especially next to the fire pit.

This place is unrecognizable from the welcoming, pretty spot it once was. Now it’s a beer garden with plastic cups and a menu of pizza and wraps. I miss the service and atmosphere. Not coming back.

Stopped in after a tow path hike on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. You have to have reservations or there is a long wait. Parking is very tight. The outdoor seating is great.

Food is okay, you kinda go for the atmosphere. I will be going back because the hike is nice and this is the closest restaurant to the tow path.

DISSAPOINTING. We drove 1 hour to eat at this well rated restaurant. We were so excited.

The pictures tell the story.

The waiter took them off the check, and we went somewhere else to eat.

Don't get the wings. They are very small and not worth the price they charge. However, the service was good, and the Pomegranate blueberry sparkler was good.

The atmosphere almost makes up for the slow service and OK food.

My wife and I arrived for her birthday at our reservation. Thankfully ours was earlier. Later in the evening there was a 30min back up. Our waiter informed us that they overbooked with reservations, had a private event happening, and were understaffed.

The caprese and the French onion soup were on par with others in the area. The beef bourguignon fell off the bone and was tender. The scallops in a lemon beurre Blanc had forgotten the lemon and ended up as just a butter cream sauce. At least the cocktail had a lemon slice, so my wife used it to add the missing lemon from the dish.

All in all we enjoyed our table and the ambiance/music but it shouldn't have taken over two hours for the food. The restaurant should either staff accordingly or not allow themselves to overbook. If service had been quicker we would have ordered dessert and additional drinks. Normally we wouldn't make this claim as it could be the desired vibe, but a number of tables around us were complaining so we weren't alone.

Great welcome and local beer on tap. Food basic, but I had a freshly grilled bratwurst and it was delicious. Beer garden is a little oasis, but loud music made it a little less cosy.

I’ve driven by this spot for years and finally decided to stop in for a special treat. The wait staff could not have been nicer. The food was mediocre at best. You are not getting your bang for your buck here. The crab cakes are average. I had to use lemon edges to make it more palatable. Fries were crispy. The steak frite had a weird taste. It was missing something. The sauce should really be on the side. Not necessarily great. The drink selection was okay … we had a few seasonal drinks that were a little too sweet for my taste. I checked the box. I don’t anticipate ever going back. Glad I went at least once.

Not the best experience for a 90.00 lunch meal.

After a long week of rain, we decided to grab a bite to eat and being life long MoCo residents and living close by to the restaurant, decided to head here. The food was LITERALLY average. And EXTREMELY overpriced. The service was average- although our waiter was pleasant.

Right off the bat:

1. The hostess didn’t give us our menus as she was seating us - something that our waiter apologized for as he said she should have. Warning no 1

2. Wait staff doesn’t know how to pour beer as there was too much head and the foam started to overflow - leaving the table a mess - that was warning no. 2

3. Limited GF options - warning no 3

Decided to try it still despite their high prices - maybe food would be worth it. SO WRONG:

3. The fries that came with our meals were undercooked and lukewarm warm

4. BY FAR THE WORST WEDGE SALAD I HAVE EVER HAD: for 20.00 all I got was lettuce DRENCHED in terrible dressing. A few cherry tomatoes- barely blue cheese crumbles and little bacon does not make a Wedge salad.

5. The hamburger was decent - texture was off

6. The Ruben was ok but not for the price they were selling it for

We should have left when we found they had little gluten free options - but decided to stay and we paid for our mistake.

Service was fine- our waiter was fine. Wait staff in general seemed disengaged.

We sat at the outdoor dining - The beer garden area with the patio furniture and umbrellas
And maybe I was paying for the ambience and location but really feel ripped off .

Maybe a good place to grab some drinks at night but Won’t be coming back.
