Just had dinner (or tried to) at Renato at River Falls. Ordered the pasta & fagioli to start and the shrimp scampi with fetuccini for dinner.
The beans in the soup were undercooked and the soup was lacking seasoning.
The shrimp must have been the fishiest tasting shrimp I’ve ever had. The pasta, underseasoned as well, was way overcooked into a mush.
I took a bite out of the shrimp and a bit of pasta and I felt like throwing up. I asked for the check, paid (added 20% tip, because it’s not the server’s fault), and left. It was obvious that I didn’t like the food, but nobody said anything. Pretty dissapointing. Would definitely not return.

Delightful lunch. Service was good and attentive. Place looks small, but that is deceiving. Calamari starter was light and delicious. Pasta Bolognese and Eggplant Parmesan was hot, fresh, and yummy. This will make it into our restaurant rotation.

Butter had ice on it. Carpaccio was stone cold. I get these items are easier to slice when frozen but at least make sure they are at room temp when served.Tomato sauce that goes with lobster ravioli was watery and barely warm. Meatballs too hot to eat. The microwave comes to mind.Chianti Classico very middle of the road. Was never shown the bottle, glass poured in the back. Could have been any red wine really.Grilled peppers taste sour like they come from a jar.Their “burratta” mostly resembles cheaply mozzarella. Real burratta is creamy in the middle. Theirs is rubbery. Served sliced and grilled. Totally takes away the purpose of using burratta.Server never asked if we enjoyed our food. The bread tasted nice and was warm. The atmosphere is cozy. My dining companion and I still had a good time because we enjoy each other’s company. But this restaurant fares on former success. Place was only half full on a Friday night. They need to step it up.

If you are not a regular, may want to steer clear...even after confirming reservation for 4 adults and 2 kids, we were given a table that barely fits 4 adults...for the duration of our meal, there were other tables available that would have fit us, but they were being held for other guests...we were served cold dishes that should have been warmed and were not offered all available options that we very obviously noticed were provided to other patrons...also we ordered a dish of spaghetti and meatballs to split for our 2 kids, and ordered the exact same dish for us, yet the portions were noticeably less when provided to our kids (1/2 the meatballs)...the food was decent but did not live up to the price charged...overall was not a memorable experience and the restaurant severely disappointed.

After waiting 25 minutes for our reservation that was made weeks prior, we finally gave up and left. It’s a shame because the food looked good but our frustration became too much to wait to find out.

Eh, $50 for a piece of fish with a side of steamed broccoli isn't worth it. For what they charge here, I really expected better than steamed veggies for a child. I'd avoid the place, ok food at best, not worth the price.
