When I visit Md I always want crab cakes so this was a new one to try. We usually do McDonnell’s and I wanted to try another one. Everything here is a la cart which will add up. I also found it a bit much to charge me 5cents for a bag when I spent $165!! Really when I’m told most restaurants don’t. Mark off already.
They do let you sample which is nice. Can’t say they were the friendliest either but whatever. Crab cakes were good but definitely has more filler than the other place.
I liked the curry cauliflower. The crab soup was ok, it did have good amount of crab. I’ve had better.
Overall worth a try but I’ll probably stick to my other place.

I recently relocated to Potomac from California. It was a pleasant surprise to find “The Market at River Falls” for ready made meals and fun, tasty gourmet items. We are still in the unpacking mode so they have made many meals for us. We decided to try their precooked and ready to heat Thanksgiving dinner. We ordered the smoked turkey with all the trimmings. It was a fantastic meal and the best turkey of my life. The entire meal was reasonably priced and high quality. I May never cook Thanksgiving again based on this meal!

Just purchased a One Pound order of fresh COD that I personally picked from the glass display case for $34. I asked them to make it a Fish and Chips special Order.
It was god awful. They simply took the one pound of COD split it in two and breaded it on One side. and sold it to me like that. Didn't include tarter sauce or offer me any.
The COD batter was under cooked and you could literally taste the raw gooey flower. When you picked the COD up from the tin foil container it simply fell apart.
When, I called to complain the girl said that's the way they do it and that she packed it herself. so she knew it was right. Really??? Have you ever had fish and chips in a half pound portion that was under cooked and battered on one side only??
The girl simply offered no apology and stood by the fact that it was supposed to be under cooked in half pound pieces.
Will never go there again. Such a rip-off

Jim and the rest of the team at The Market River Falls were amazing. Very responsive and accommodating to a few last minute adjustments. The food arrived on time and beautifully displayed. Don't pass up the poached salmon display... it's a show stopper and incredibly tasty. My guests enjoyed all the dishes. Will definitely be back!

I got an Italian sub for lunch. Everything about it was great except for the stale baguette, which ruined the sandwich. I gave the wrong answer to the question: do you want the baguette toasted? I was thinking of the nice fresh baguettes made at the bakery next door. This “baguette” was just dry, tasteless white bread.

Catering: A wonderful experience! We just had The Market at River Falls cater for a 40-person retirement ceremony. I worked with Jim on finalizing our order, and he helped me determine the amounts and timing to reduce overage and waste. They delivered promptly, and provided condiments and a few platters with garnishes for the crab cakes. Mini Crabcakes were great for a crowd, and they turned sub sandwiches into platters for us as well. The potato salad, black bean salad, fruit salad, and green salads were all very fresh and tasty. They even included a few ice packs to help keep everything chilled for the outdoor event. We had plenty of food and came in under our budget. I would definitely use their services again!

Very nice market with a great selection of what seems like very fresh and high quality items. Very friendly and helpful service as well. I would just say that the prices seem very high, i.e. $15/lb for roasted brussels sprouts and $13/lb for roasted mushrooms, presumably due to being in an expensive area with higher rent. The roasted veggies did taste very good though, definitely a step above what you'd find at your average deli. Nice place to stop by if you are nearby and are okay paying a bit more but probably not worth going out of your way for.

This market has excellent fish and prepared foods. Probably excellent meat too. Love their crab cakes. Recently bought sushi grade tuna which was on sale. Friendly staff. One of my fave places to shop. Be sure to get in their mailing list for the specials which are really good deals.
