Loved it and will definitely be returning
Food was ok, I think this is the crab spot, most people there was eating crabs
Great local bar and restaurant to eat and watch sports or to have happy hour with friends. They also have fresh seafood you can take home and cook yourself like a seafood market. We started with the crispy buffalo shrimp bites appetizer which was a pleasant surprise with nice bite-sized shrimp lightly breaded with the a nice buffalo sauce. We shared a beer flight which was great value and tried a bunch of local beers that way and also enjoyed mimosas because they were having a Saturday special. For entree we split a jumbo lump crab cake platter with the roasted potatoes (excellent) and the onion rings. Definitely a great place for a family meal with plenty of good options regardless of preference.

Reter lovely local restaurant, servicing not only hot local Maryland steamed crabs, but a delicious menu of seafood, appetizers and beyond. Inside and outside seating is available. Little noisy, but expected when great food, family and friends share a meal.

We are in town for Creature Feature weekend in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. We flew into Baltimore and one of my wife's cousins took us to Reter's.
I am a avid seafood Hunter and the chance to experience crab cooked so many different ways was exciting to me.
When you first got to the restaurant the decor was perfect. Looks just like a seafood market and displaying of the fresh seafood at the front. Lets you know there Proud of the catches that they have to serve that day.
Four drinks I started off with one of the flights. I wanted to get a different taste of all the different types of beers locally that is served. I would say the favorites of mine was Nectar and pulp.
For my appetizer I ordered the crab covered pretzel which was delicious. The crab on top did not take away from the pretzel and combined had such a great textural combination while chewing.
For our entrees I decided to go with the crab imperial. This dish was so delicious, very buttery and creamy. Melt in your mouth crab I was able to eat 3/4 of it even though I had so much other food to work on. I also want to add I added the sweet potato waffle cut fries as my side for my crab imperial because I wanted to have something sweet to counter balance the richness of the crap. Hands down the best sweet potato fries I've ever had . The outside was perfectly crispy while the inside melted in your mouth . I was so impressed. I was passing the fries out to everybody at the table and everybody concurge.
My wife got the soft shell crab sandwich. I was able to take a bite of this as well and it was phenomenal. The crab was nice and flattened allowed it to absorb all the flavors because it was super flavorable.
We also got to have at the table the crab soup which was delicious.
We were also able to get a lunch special burger which was very juicy and the french fries were crispy complimented it well.
At this point we were able to talk with Brandon the executive chef.
Brandon has been operating the kitchen for some time now and was excited to of us talk about some of their new items coming out. Particularly the Buffalo chicken dip, which is going to be coming out today.
The buffalo chicken dip was fantastic! Because the buffalo chicken was not overpowered by the blue cheese which happens quite a bit at other restaurants. The blue cheese for this dip was great. Start mild finish which would be A great introductory into blue cheese if you don't already like it.
Then we were able to take a look at the grilled shrimp and crab quesadilla, one of the most popular menu items at Reter's. I was able to get a whole one down even though at this point I was pretty much stuffed.
In the end though, I couldn't walk away without having any dessert so I did get a key lime pie which I shared with my wife and we also got a funnel cake for the table.
Overall, the experience here at Reter's was hands down phenomenal.
The atmosphere, the food, the staff all of it was top notch. You got to remember this was 2:00 on a Thursday and this place was packed full of life.
Everything about this places, what I would say is a gem for the local people. I'm just glad I was able to come in for the short period of time that I have here and enjoy such a delicious meal and such a wonderful place.
If you haven't got a chance to please stop by Reter's Crab House and grill, and make sure you get the sweet potato waffle fries please!

Went to Reter's on Monday, March 23 and my husband and I both had the queen cut prime rib. It was cooked perfectly medium well, so delicious and you could almost cut it with a fork! It was the best meal we ever had from there and we go there frequently.

Hands down the best party wings ever. They marinate them, bake then, season them and then flash fry them, toss them with the flavor of your choice. I judge them the BEST wings ever. Oysters and clams were fresh and succulent.
