When we go camping at a local campground (about 6-7 times a year), we used to go to Harbor Shack on Friday evenings and on Saturday at 11:30 AM. Last week, we brought our friends from the city with us for Saturday lunch, per usual. The hostess child on duty that Saturday informed us that we'd have to sit indoors, since the waitress rotation schedule dictated that is how it should be. We politely asked to be seated outside, since we wanted to be near the harbor for the view - denied by hostess child. Both of us grew up in the business and realize the importance of rotation schedules, while understanding that customers SHOULD be able to sit where they would like. We complained to the wait staff and we overheard one of the bartenders say "Sit where you sit and don't throw a fit". To the hostess child, the bartender and the owner of Harbor Shack, here is my "fit" - We will not be coming back to Harbor Shack and we will tell all of our friends in the city and at the campground to go to Waterman's across the harbor. You can sit where you like and the seafood is better.

After a wonderful day in the area, we came to this place to grab something to eat. The waitress outside took 25 minutes to come to our table, even though the place wasn’t busy at all. She finally took our order, but after waiting another 30 minutes, she came back just to tell us they didn’t have any food available. Really strange experience — definitely not coming back.

Love this place. It’s a great place to chill, unwind, watch boats, look at the Chesapeake Bay, meet up with friends, and by all means eat and drink. My favorite is sitting outside. Music at times.

Without a doubt they have the most waterfowl cream of crab soup that was brought no warmer than room temperature and had less than a tablespoon of crab eat in the whole bowl. The nachos had melted cheese that had hardened and looked like horills glue and the waitress failed to tell me that guacamole was an up charge. I would not recommend this place for either of these 2 dishes

One or favorite restaurants in Rock Hall. Casual, outside dining with great water views. Salads were fresh, fajita was delicious. Rib eye steak was a good portion and tender. For lunch we had the blackened chicken on a salad and the shrimp and sausage app. The blackened chicken was perfectly seasoned and the app was very good as well. Servers were friendly and attentive and food arrived quickly. We look forward to a return visit!

A cratchy old lady yelled at me saying i couldn't have my cocker spaniel at the outside bar after the hostess directed me there as there were no tables available. I understand someone directed me wrong in saying i could wait at the outside bar with my dog until a table opened, but i really don't appreciate the arrogant yelling at me for their error. I and business colleagues will go to the heron or decoy from now on. That gray haired lady should not be in contact with customers and should probably just retire. Obviously, they don't need our money.

This was a busy place on a Friday evening in Rock Hall. The bar was very busy and we had to wait about 35 minutes to get a table. We ordered the half rack of ribs with fries and Cole slaw (reasonably priced for the size of the portion) and the crab and shrimp quesadillas. Service was quick once we got seated and the food was very good.

Perfect place to stop and have lunch. I only have a Maryland crab soup being a manager. I can say it's top-notch served with a side of Saltines. Beautiful view of the harbor lots of different kinds of boats from crabbing to sailboats to yachts. So if you want to take a minute, slow down and eat some great food and enjoy Marilyn's eastern shore, this is a great place to do it.

Great down to earth type of restaurant with a bunch of outdoor seating looking out over the bay. Lots of room for handling a ton of people at once. Service was faster than expected. The portion sizes are a bit on the smaller size for the price. Most of the food was very very good. I had cream of crab soup, it was about an 8 out of 10.... Just a bit too much salt. The other seafood was very good as well, like the shrimp and scallops. But I would not get the crab cakes here... They have too much filler and are too salty as well. They also seem to fry them instead of broiling.... So they have that hard crust on them, which is not what I like for Maryland crab cakes.
