We had an amazing dinner with friends! The food was delicious, and the size of portions was good enough to feel full. Servants were very nice.

Highly recommend this place.

Incredible foods. Premium price point matched by equally premium dishes.

This place was such a pleasant surprise. We decided to play hooky and going on a midday date. My husband was suffering with some allergy issues and this was quite the remedy. We ordered the calamari (can’t remember the name on the menu but it’s fried squid), king dragon roll, spicy seafood ramen, and the fried chicken ramen. Everything was more than delicious! The calamari had a delicious, what I assume was, red pepper aioli sauce which was packed with flavor. The squid was fried to perfection and nice and hot! The sushi had SO much flavor I couldn’t believe it. Definitely one of the best dragon rolls I’ve ever had and the ramen was Sooogood! The Broth was amazing the noodles were very fresh and the seafood was just what I needed. I can’t wait to go back!

Best Ramen in MoCo that I can find. Sometimes I drive the 30min each way just to get it.

Parking: Park underground and ride the elevator up to the street.

there is a head waitress here who is just very rude to his associates in training through out eating my meal I heard him yelling at this person demanding him to clean & then yelling at him because he wasn’t doing it correctly. It made me very upset to see someone lack so much patience and be so hostile to an associate who was trying his best and asking questions on how to do things correctly. He was also snapping his fingers at this associate demanding him to do things, to the rude waitress reading this you lack patience and respect for people. Not only was he rude, he also didn’t even bring out my soda in time and again lol yelled at the other associate to bring it out when it was literally his table. I am just disgusted with this behavior and honestly made me lose my appetite I couldn’t even finish my soup. The food overall is okay the ramen isn’t the best it’s 30% broth and 70% noodles. The broth also seems water down too. I probably won’t come here again because I can’t support a restaurant who treats people this way.

The owner responded to my review I would like to assure anybody reading this was not okay. The waitress was very rude and hostile and lacked patience. You do not treat people that way. I also don’t know what friend demands you around and snaps there fingers at you. This response is completely lies. Please do better and hire people who have patience in training others.

This is the first time I tried Akira Ramen in Rockville. I spend a lot of my time trying ramen in the DMV since moving back from Japan and I’d say Akira is definitely up there in the list! We started with karaage and the two sauces they gave us went really well with the chicken. We ordered the Akira ramen and the Akira Volcano and they were both so tasty. They have other dishes beside ramen which were really tempting and I am looking forward to come back and try them.

The food was phenomenal. I ordered the Salmon Lover Roll as an appetizer and the Gyu Don as my entree.

The Salmon Lover roll was as expected. It had the right flavors, right texture, etc.

The Gyu Don was perfect. It has the right balance of flavor with the sauce. There wasn’t too much, there wasn’t too little. It was the perfect amount. It came with the miso soup. I’m not a miso soup person but it was definitely flavorful.

Unfortunately, I’m not a local to this area, but if I’m back in the area, this would be a place to definitely stop at. I do highly recommend coming here and grabbing food.

This place has definitely gone down hill. The management here is rude, condescending and completely unconcerned with customer service. The worst restaurant encounter and service that I have ever experienced. I will never visit this establishment again.

Update 2024: sadly my favorite ramen spot’s quality has gone downhill the last few times I’ve eaten here. Specifically the meat quality is not as good (the pork better is chewy, fatty and doesn’t taste good). Overall the ramen just doesn’t taste as good anymore

Increbile ramen. The “Akira” ramen is my go to. Perfectly balanced, not too heavy on the broth, not too light. Just right.
