We had a fantastic lunch at Arirang, a lovely Korean spot on a quiet shopping strip. On a calm weekday afternoon, we were served five classic Korean side dishes-including kimchi, potatoes, and seaweed salad. We loved the seafood tofu soup and the BBQ pork; everything was incredibly flavorful! The portions are huge, the service was as friendly as it was efficient.

My go-to Korean restaurant in the area. Food 5+. Simplicity is the key. Slightly pricy but reasonable.

Food quality was significantly worse then what I am accustomed to. Took a friend for her first Korean food experience and food and service were disappointing. Waitress openly and loudly argued with a colleague while customers were dining. Will not be going to this restaurant any time soon.

Another week back in the “rock” decided to get some jjajang myun on the fourth. Unfortunately, although it normally is open until later. Wang closed just as I pulled up with another couple at around 4 pm. Saw that this was the closest Korean place open and took a chance. Very homey feel, awesome waitstaff, hard working diligent. Kept my expectations low, however, not to be disappointed. I ordered only two dishes instead of my usually go to three or if really hungry, four dishes. Food came out quick, customers sitting at the adjacent table made great recommendations. Wolfing down my food as usual, Yooooo, the 떡볶이 was fire!!!! Very 쫄깃쫄깃해. And, the Chick Neng’s was really good , too. Positive note, I 우연히 bumped into the awesome associate pastor of Maryland central and his fam. What a blessing! 그럼 안녕히 계세요 마라나타! 🙏

Been a loyal customer for years. To me this is Korean comfort food. My usual orders are the soondubu, dol sot bimbimbap, gamjatang, hamulpajun and LA Galbi. They still provide numerous banchan and service for the most part is good. They do charge for take out containers, so bring you own to avoid the charge.
MoCo doesn’t have many good Korean restaurants, so give this a try if you are in the Rockville, MD area.
Authentic korean food.
Funny how a lot of folks leave bad reviews stating waiters requesting more tip, but they don't state how much % tip they gave. It's a lot of work gathering all the side dishes because it's Korean food. Also the servers have to pay out to host, busboy, taxes, etc on an assumed tip so they can lose money. If you are going to tip 5 - 10 % then go get carryout you cheap bastards.
This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path but I would say it’s pretty good, not great. Prices are what you might expect for a Korean place, maybe a tad bit more. The boiled dumplings and seafood pancake were both good. The side dishes strangely came only after our two appetizers came. The wait staff is good about replenishing it. Our main dish was the beef tofu soup and a seafood/beef tofu soup. It was again good, not great. Surprised that they didn’t give us a raw egg that you would crack into the steaming soup. One unique thing Arirang does is provide the rice in a clay pot so the rice seems fresh and is still cooking at your table. Wait staff are attentive and cordial. The ambiance is a bit dated and you have a lot do privacy in half screened off tables. Ample parking and last order is at 8:30 pm. On a side note: a friend of mine recently broke down nearby and they let her stay warm in the front area and even served her hot tea - hence I really wanted to give them a shot.
EDIT: lowering my review because we've gone here on multiple occasions where the waitress begs for a larger tip. Incredibly cringe behavior from a grown ass old lady.
My favorite Korean place in Rockville. Amazing selection of foods and the service is kind and fast. Their spicy pork bulgogi and seafood pancake are amazing

It's just a great local favorite for casual dining.
Feels like I'm in Korean, around a backstreet restaurant where everything is made out of wood and traditional comfort furniture.
Food was heartwarming, feels like a mom made it and not some business man following the Korean trends.
Only problem, don't go on busy weekends or else you'll have to wait an hour for food. Which is normal everywhere.

I wasn’t wanting to give any review but will do it now due to the treatment we got. Ordered a hot bibimbap with beef and seafood pancake.
1. Seafood pancake- oily and barely any seafood (basically deep fried vege plater)
2. Hot stone bibimbap - There wasn’t any meat. Not even the eye could see. (Basically a hot rice vege bowl)
3. Short ribs- now this is a decent amount of beef. Still low quality and quantity.
$$$$ when it came to the bill and paid. Lady followed us outside and asked if that is all the tip. I said that is all. She looked disgusted to where it felt petty. I’m a foodie and generous when it comes to good service and food. Was trying to let it be but you came out to point out your insults at us. LOOK AT OTHER PLACES. Give your money elsewhere.
