Best Taiwanese food I have had in the DMV hands down. Food was fresh, spice and flavor was all on point, just all around so good.
I tried the Bao Bei Bowl, spicy dumplings, and popcorn chicken. All were REALLY yummy. I was especially impressed with the quality of the dumpling wrapper and filling.
I also tried their mango sago and wood ear mushrooms back before they opened the store front and would highly recommend both.
Service was great and very clean interior. So happy this place exists 😠would totally drive an hour to come back and eat this again

Love all the vegan options here! Especially the tofu bites. I'm not sure what the seasoning is but they are delicious. I'm sure my dad (who is definitely not a vegan) would love to try the big fried chicken! Lots of options for everyone.

Food was really not good. The baos flavor was off and the bun was soggy. The pork dish was also really not good. Much better options in Rockville.

The Bao Bei Bao is easily the best bao bun I've ever had. With how big the portion of meat and flavor is, I think the price is easily justifiable, and they even do discounts on Tuesday's. Each day has its own discounted item. My fiancé absolutely loved their XL fried chicken and mango sage. Both are very good as well. The atmosphere is also very chill and cool. They do these cool designs on carryout brown bags. The vibes and atmosphere is just awesome. So glad we tried this spot, and definitely can't wait to comeback and try some more and share with some friends!

If you’re looking for a nice Bao bun or a bird with motion, you gotta check this place out. The Bao bread is nice and fluffy, the pork is tender, and the chicken is crispy. The decor inside is also a nice nostalgic treat. The entire place really just showcases a personal touch.

Everything was spot on; the flavor, texture, and presentation were all flawlessly executed. The staff are friendly and attentive and the dining area and restrooms were spotless as well. A special shoutout to @lemurr.king for being the man and the legend! I will definitely be back for the rest of the menu items

Bao Bei’s new location (12015 Rockville Pike Ste E, Rockville, MD 20852) is so much better than the old one. First, you can actually dine inside now—at the old location everything had to be taken to-go. Second, the new spot is in a large plaza with great foot traffic. After eating at Bao Bei, you can take a relaxing walk to the nearby Giant to pick up groceries. It’s honestly the perfect little routine!
The new space is beautiful—clean, bright, and very comfortable. The music creates a super chill vibe, and the restaurant has two spacious, very clean restrooms.
Service is great, and the food is incredibly delicious. My favorite is the Bao Bei Bao, and I was pleasantly surprised by the seasonal Pumpkin CinnaBao—it was so good!
I really hope the beef version of the Bao Bei Bao comes back. I saw it before as a seasonal item but never got the chance to try it—such a pity!
One sincere suggestion: it would be amazing to add two self-order kiosks. Walking up to the counter can feel overwhelming—I have to look down at the text-only menu, then look up at the photo menu on the wall, and then quickly tell the cashier my order while people are lining up behind me. The whole process feels a bit stressful. In contrast, the mobile ordering system is very well designed, but it’s mainly for takeout. So I strongly recommend adding a couple of in-store kiosks using the same layout as the mobile ordering menu. It would be super helpful for shy customers or those unfamiliar with the menu!

As a Taiwanese, I’m so happy I found this place! The food is very authentic; it truly reminds me of home. The fried chicken is amazing: super juicy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside, just like the night market bites I grew up with. 🧡
The veggie bun tasted fresh and homemade definitely not frozen. The Bowl is delicious too — flavorful without being overly salty, which I really appreciate!
I will definitely be coming back again.
