Bethesda Bagels in Gaithersburg: Just as Good as the Original!
As a 35-year regular of the Bethesda location, I was thrilled to discover a Bethesda Bagels outpost in Gaithersburg! And let me tell you, it lives up to the original in every way.
The bagels are just as delicious, the online ordering is fast and efficient, and even when I missed the online cutoff during a busy holiday, the staff kept things moving smoothly for walk-in orders.
They nail all the classics, like bagels with lox and cream cheese, whitefish, but they also have a surprisingly good selection of lunch sandwiches, pizza bagels, and more.
If you're looking for a great bagel experience in Gaithersburg, look no further than Bethesda Bagels. Highly recommended!

The bagels themselves were not that great. They're pretty large but barely have a flavor. The egg bagel just tasted like a regular bagel, compared to other places this is not the case. They definitely didnt add salt or even sugar to hany of the bagels. The exterior of the bagels were super hard and I was not a fan.

My husband and I have visited several times and tried several varieties, but our last visit left us high and dry in the flavor department. I got a chocolate chip and he got cinnamon raisin and he said, "If I was blindfolded, I couldn't tell you which is which, both taste like cardboard. This is the first time I am struggling to finish eating a bagel."
If you do eat here, make sure you get lots of toppings so the bagels taste good!

I came on recommendation of someone at my Doctor's office nearby and it exceeded my expectations.
I asked the dude at the counter for a couple of recommendations, one for a breakfast sandwich and one for a bagel with some form of shmear, and I ended up with the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had and a fantastic sweet cinnamon chip bagel.
The portions and quality are tremendous, and for the price? Unbelievable. The price couldn't be more honest for the customer for what you get.
I live an hour away but I will drive back to come here again.
This place has a lot of vegetarian options (including beyond sausage). I got a fresh veggie bagel with chive cream cheese. It was super fresh. There are so many bagel, topping, and cream cheese choices. The service was really good. The bagel I ordered got picked up by someone else. So, they made me another one without me even asking. It can be packed and is more of a grab and go place. They have an online ordering system too which I will be trying out. Can’t wait to come back and try out all the flavors!
