Black Lion Coffee & Café

Black Lion is a gem for anyone who takes their coffee seriously. The shop roaster sits right out front, and you can tell they're roasting on site in small batches. You can buy bags of single-origin, ethically sourced beans that were roasted only days ago, which is a huge plus if you brew espresso at home. There's something special about a local cafe that puts that level of care into their product instead of just reselling commercial beans. Beyond the coffee, the staff is friendly, the service is great, and the space has a cozy vibe that makes it perfect for getting some work done. Highly recommend supporting this small local business.

Staff is friendly, coffee is good. Not a bad place to sit and clear your mind for a bit, and is a nice place to meet with friends to catch up on life.

Black Lion Cafe was a major disappointment. The coffee was severely over-roasted to the point of tasting burnt and bitter. Even worse, they managed to scorch the milk as well, which is hard to do. The end result was a latte that was nearly undrinkable.
The service didn’t help matters either, inattentive and unwelcoming, which made the whole experience even more frustrating.
I’m not typically a fan of chain coffee shops, but I have to be honest: I’d choose Starbucks over this any day. At least there you know what you’re getting, and it won’t taste like charcoal.
Black Lion Cafe needs to seriously reconsider their coffee roasting process and barista training. Until they do, I can’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent cup of coffee.

Coffee comes out like gasoline - way too bitter and over extracted. If you like coffee, this isn’t the place to be. If you like a cozy spot to post up for work or study and don’t care, then this is definitely an option.

Lovely local coffee shop. Always friendly staff. Espresso is flavorful. Also ordered a cortado, a vanilla latte, and an iced latte. All were delicious.

This is by far the best coffee place around. I got the chai latte and the wife got a latte with almond milk. You can definitely taste the work that they have done to the beans. I shall return.

I used to be a barista for a while, and I feel that Black Lion has some of the absolute best coffee I’ve ever had anywhere. It’s really stellar. The staff are great, the interior is lovely, and every experience I have there is fabulous.

Cozy café vibes! The coffee is delicious, the space has plenty of comfortable seating options, and the service is friendly and helpful. It’s a great spot to work, relax, or catch up with friends.

The only thing I’d love to see is a slightly larger food selection. When I visited in the afternoon, there were just a few pastries (muffins and croissants), but it’s possible there are more options earlier in the day.

Either way, this was a great find—and I’ll definitely be coming back for the yummy coffee whenever I’m in the area!

This was my second visit here. First one was ok no issues. Went there on Thursday and after waiting about 5 minutes a lady finally came from the back. She greeted me, but was preoccupied on her cell phone talking to someone the entire time. She stayed on the call during my order and after I paid. She was still on the call while preparing my coffee. She placed my coffee on the table where the sugar and half and half were and it was unkept as coffee and milk spills were present. She did not bother to tidy up.
The coffee was good, but the experience was not. I will not be returning.
