They responded promptly, and we discussed the flavor and other details. When I asked for a quote, it was higher than I expected, so I shared my budget with them. They assured me it wasn’t a problem and adjusted some of the details to fit my budget. Later that day, I emailed again to let them know my final headcount was about one-third smaller than the original order. I assumed everything would still be fine. However, their response was that they could no longer accommodate making the cake and provide no options or discussion. Now, I’m left with very little time to find another custom cake. Their decision was confusing and has put me in a difficult position. It’s unfortunate that a local business doesn’t seem to value building community support.

I was so pleased with the experience and result of working with Cakes In Style for a custom cake for my child’s birthday party. They were very responsive and helpful. Pick up went smoothly as well.
There were a lot of options for fillings, which was great! After eating the cake, I would have probably chosen something other than buttercream for the inside (because we also had buttercream on the outside). It was still delicious, just some bites were overwhelming and that is entirely on me for choosing that.

Working with Cakes in Style was a pleasure from beginning to end. Usually, I go into a supermarket and pick up a random cake for someone's birthday, so easy. Not so easy for picking out a wedding cake that will make or break your party and leave guests baffled. I was 90% done with wedding planning and left the cake for last. I didn't want to be bothered with hunting for a vendor, making multiple visits and who to trust. I finally googled a cake store nearby and found Cakes in Style in the Rockville, MD area, very convenient. I took my fiancé at the time to meet with the owner Robert. I made an appointment with Robert; we went in and were amazed. First off, we saw many samples on the counter as well as in his portfolio. Then we went over the logistics of the cake, he took down great notes, provided great suggestions, and was very enthusiastic about helping us. He was kind enough to provide us with an impromptu cake tasting. My fiancé had made up his mind by the end of the free consultation, he picked the design, and we were all set. Robert kept in touch with updates, provided easy and flexible methods of payment and he delivered the cake on time and in one piece. We have seen many cake fail videos but nothing be scared about with Cakes in Style. Our venue was familiar to the owner, so we felt comfortable working with him. We left the store happy and content. We had selected a Red Velvet Cake with a Cream filling, our guests mentioned that it was the best cake they have ever had. It tasted amazing as well as looked beautiful. Presentation and Detail were on spot. I highly recommend Cakes in Style to all and everyone looking for a cake for their special occasion. I will surely use their services again in the future. They treated us like family and not just some random customer walking through the door. Thank you, Robert and Lucia, for adding your magic to make our wedding magical.

Gave them 6 weeks to make a car cake. They showed up with a cake that looked like a toddler made it. They PROMISED!!!! they would match the color and shape. They called me the day before telling me it wouldn't be ready. They then said they would deliver it at 10 the next day..... they were super late. 2 hours before the party to tell me they were going to be late. They showed up at the party and the cake was still not finished. The made fondant wheels on the spot that looked like wagon wheels. My father in law is a good sport but he still brings it up. You ruined his 60th birthday. You suck.

They did a wonderful job on my daughter’s Gluten Free wedding cake. It was delicious and beautiful. They delivered it as requested. They are also very responsive. Don’t bother looking anywhere else.
