“Outstanding food - dim sum all day, made fresh to order. Each dish came out piping hot. The skin on the rice noodle rolls and shrimp dumplings were authentic and thin, topped with a delicious sweet soy sauce. The chive dumplings were enormous and flavorful. The char siu buns and char siu itself are also flavorful, moist, and top notch. I especially enjoyed the jelly desserts - so refreshing, light, and unique. Service was also fast and excellent - they were so attentive to our table. You also can make reservations here. Small parking lot was easy to use. There is no sign facing the road so it’s hard to find - they should add more obvious signage. I def want to come back!“

“Stopped by Double Lucky Star after a friend told me about it, and now I’m hooked. The roast duck is outta this world — crispy skin, tender meat, just the right amount of seasoning. Their BBQ pork’s got that perfect sweet-salty balance too.

What I really appreciate is how fresh everything tastes. You can tell it’s made right before pickup, none of that sitting-under-a-heat-lamp stuff. I usually grab a family combo after work — saves me cooking and the kitchen stays clean.

Folks behind the counter are always polite, even when they’re busy. Feels like they actually care about what they’re serving.

It’s not fancy, but it’s solid. Tastes like something your uncle would cook if he ran a BBQ shop in Hong Kong. Definitely worth a stop if you’re anywhere near Rockville.“

“The food was good. Avoid the beef spare rub entre but definitely get pan fried noodles with Seafood and the Duck dishes. Dim sum is also tasty!!“

“I was excited to try this new dumpling spot since I heard it just opened. I tried to make a reservation ahead of time since it was the weekend, but there seemed to be an issue with their system and it wouldn’t go through. So I had to just show up and ended up waiting a long time to get seated.

However, once we got in, the food was actually really good and everything came out pretty quickly, which I appreciated. The reservation issue and the wait weren’t great, but the dumplings were tasty enough that I’d go back again.“

“First time here. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty so we sat right away. Service and friendly and fast. We got 3 things to share: rainbow soup dumplings(really good), wontons in Spicy peanut sauce (delicious), pork belly over rice (so good). We live in the neighborhood and will definitely be back!“

“The fish is really good here. We came here for Christmas and the food was all good. Unfortunately they didn’t have dim sum available. They told us it would take an hour to get the food out, so if you’re looking for fast Chinese food this probably isn’t the place.“

“The rainbow soup dumplings were quite good—especially the shrimp and zucchini flavor, which stood out to me. They have more of a fusion twist compared to traditional soup dumplings. As for the red oil wontons, they were just okay. The flavor wasn’t really my preference, particularly the taste of the vegetables. Will not recommend.“

“I would rate the taste here 5 stars. The dim sum comes piping hot on carts, ready to serve. Today we ordered 5 baskets from the cart and one additional item that had to be steamed to order. However, when the bill came it showed 6 baskets plus the extra dish. We tried to explain that it was incorrect and even showed photos and videos we had taken, but they said they couldn’t adjust the bill. Instead, they offered us to take one dim sum item home.

I understand mistakes can happen, but at the same time the staff should listen to customers when there’s clear evidence.

As for the service charge that many people mention in reviews, the restaurant suggests 18%, 20% or 22%, but it’s up to you how much to give. I will still come back because the food is very good — I’ll just make sure to check the items as the staff writes them down to be sure they match.“
