Good selection of chinese cuisines. Spicy wontons, beef chow fun and salt and crispy shrimp are my favorites! Parking can be a bit hard to find during peak hours.

I just bumbled into this place en route home after an exhausting day. I was craving take-out orange chicken and (per Google), this was one of two recommended places in Rockville where I could buy it. So I called in my order, showed up 10 minutes prior to the time I was told that the food would be ready and only waited a minute or two. Had I known that it was an authentic Cantonese restaurant--not a single American in the place--I would have been more adventurous. Suffice it to say, the food that I saw served to its patrons looked incredible, as reiterated by most of its reviews, and mine was exceptional--enough to feed three people. I will definitely be returning there to try some of their other dishes.

Walking into East Pearl, you immediately get a mix of warmth and bustle. The décor isn’t flashy, but comfortably clean; lots of large round tables with lazy Susans, which makes it excellent for family dinners or group outings.

🍜 Food & Flavor
If you’re craving authentic Chinese cuisine, this is one of your better bets in the area. Portions are generous, sauces are well-balanced, and many dishes stay true to the “old school” flavors (no over-sugared or over-thickened sauces).

🛎 Service & Atmosphere
Service is generally solid. Staff are attentive without being overbearing; they do a good job managing crowds. Speaking of crowds — Sundays and evenings are busy. Parking is one of the pain points. The lot is small and fills up quickly. If you can, go early, or carpool.
The noise level can get elevated, especially with full tables and kids. But that’s part of the charm — it feels like a place that’s beloved, busy, and alive, not sterile or overly curated.

💡 Value & Overall
For what you get — authentic flavors, generous portions, family/group-friendly seating — East Pearl delivers strong value. It might not be fine dining, but it doesn’t try to be — and in this category, it excels. If I lived in Rockville, I’d come back often.

East Pearl just might be my favorite restaurant in this area. I love their Peking duck, chow foon, spicy shrimp dumplings and broccoli.

Food is very good and home like feel to the resteraunt. Good amount of choices on the menu. We appreciated the to go bags are reusable. Parking can be difficult so you may need to walk a short distance, but it won't be too far. Staff are very friendly.
