Our “go to” restaurant in DC for authentic Mexican food.
Great food, great Sevice and GREAT margaritas!
I like that this restaurant uses tablecloths and cloth napkins. The food was delicious, the presentation was delightful. The service was attentive and the host was gracious. The prices were reasonable. My entire party was pleased.

Ordered Queso Fondido with Chorizo, awful. It was a small portion of gummy Mozzarella cheese with a little chorizo sprinkled on top. I couldn’t eat it with my chips because it was stuck together. Queso is supposed to be white queso that melts easily. This should have been a dip, but it ended up being a glop of cheese.

Showed up with my kids while mom was traveling and the team was incredibly accommodating with all of our requests. They were patient, flexible, and made the whole experience easy and stress-free. Highly recommend!

This has become out to-go place for Mexican. I recommend El Mariachi.
I like that it feels more intimate than the more comerialized Mexican restaurants. The service is always friendly and excellent.
Be careful with the margaritas - boy, do they have kick! The food has always been excellent. I really like the carne asada.
This is definitely a hidden gem in Rockville. I suggest checking it out.

This is an excellent Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurant. It is one of the few local restaurants that uses tablecloths. Now tablecloths aren’t strictly necessary, but it shows that the management/owners are offering a fine dining experience. And that is exactly what you get: excellent quality Mexican and Tex-Mex food, served by attentive waiters. We like the salmon in Pacifico sauce, the Fajitas (beef, chicken, or combo), and the wide variety of enchiladas, tacos, and salads.
The restaurant is cozy and inviting. The service is very good, the food tastes amazing. The fresh juice is exceptional.

A very tasty anniversary lunch
Superior service
Delicious salmon
Heavenly dessert.
All on a super hot summer day.
We just celebrated a wonderful birthday here and the food was delicious. A very welcoming atmosphere and staff. I will absolutely be back again.
So the food here is really good! I had a chicken chimichanga and the queso dip, and both were great! Now…the reason for 3 stars: the service here is lacking. I sat at the bar, and I felt as if I was bothering the bartender by trying to order something. Once I got my appetizer, I didn’t see him again until it was time to pay the check, at which point he decided to become “chatty” I’m assuming to try and get a larger tip. Because of the tv at the bar, plenty of waiters seemed to hover near me to watch it (which was off-putting while trying to enjoy my food), but no one ever asked if I needed anything. Additionally, El Mariachi doesn’t have a happy hour, drink specials, not even beer specials and their margaritas are quite expensive (see pic below). I would say this is a great place to grab something “to go”, but I wouldn’t recommend dinning in!
Kind and respectful servers food come out fast good price range for the food and good desserts.
This was not my first visit a since I had a pleasant first experience, I recommended to a friend.
Unfortunately, some of the food ordered this time was disappointing. The fajitas were really good.
The service was friendly.
Overall, will try again.
