I’m from Spain and I have hard time to find authentic Spaniard cuisine but I found already here, at least is very similar!! The food is amazing and the restaurant is located in a nice walkable area!

Wonderful, elegant, beautiful restaurant! The staff is so sweet and friendly. The food is divine. The ambiance is warm and lively. It’s perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Looking forward to returning for the flamenco show!
Good paellas but be prepared to wait awhile for it to be prepared

We celebrated birthday here with friends on a Saturday night, and it was a great experience. The staff and manager were so friendly and really attentive to everything we asked for. They made sure the table setup worked perfectly for us and took care of everyone’s preferences. Even though the restaurant is new, it already feels like a place people will love coming back to! They let us enjoy our evening without interrupting, which made the night even better. In terms of food, my personal favorite was the calamari, but the beet and goat cheese tapas also delicious. I would love to see more veggie options though! The place itself is spacious and has a really comfortable & cozy vibe. We’ll definitely be back for a flamenco night soon.

Our group of 7 went there on 11/1. Food and service was wonderful. Our server was very attentive, and serial other came to help bring out our dishes. This was our second time there which is something our family doesn't do often. The Nutella stuff churros are something special!
Great food. So many vegetarian options to try. Super close to Rockville metro

Good drinks! Really nice bartenders
My husband and I ended up eating here when we realized the restaurant we wanted to go to had shut down. Best happenstance ever.
The food was delicious, the staff were super attentive, and the ambiance was lovely.

Stopped here for their happy hour and their seasonal drinks are amazing! Their crispy wings are the best I’ve had. I will definitely be back to try their dinner menu

I agree with the other reviews that state this is more like a microwaveable frozen finger foods restaurant. We were excited to try this place as we live a few blocks away but it did not live up to expectations. It’s not authentic tapas and the prices are too high for what you get. Will not return

El Mercat is a great spot when you’re craving Spanish tapas in a lively but comfortable setting. Most dishes — like the garlicky shrimp, croquetas, and classic paella — hit the mark and taste fresh and authentic. A few plates felt a little under-seasoned, but overall it’s flavorful, friendly, and well-priced for the quality. A solid choice for a fun tapas night.

Sorry to be the skunk at the party, but this place fell far below our expectations, and we will not be returning. The chef knows only one word - OIL. Every dish is literally swimming in it. The gambas? Drenched. The salad? Soaked. The corn? Immersed. The mushrooms? Saturated. We returned the mushrooms the first time, and they still came back with oil throughout them.
We sat outside, which was pleasant, but there are no pads on the chairs, so prepare your buns for a hard experience.
In sum, do your arteries and cholesterol a favor. Try another restaurant.
