Family owned and operated pizza/sub restaurant a few doors from the Rockville Regal theater in Rockville Town Center. I've been here a number of times, primarily for the pizza special ($7.25 for two decent sized slices of cheese pizza plus a drink - toppings 50 cents extra). Also have had the subs, including the cheesesteak and the eggplant parm. I think the subs are good - nice size, tasty and I also like the fries/drink combo you can get for a few dollars more. The restaurant has an open drink dispenser with a variety of sodas and iced tea, so you can get free refills to your heart's content. I struggled with this review for one reason and here's the problem. I grew up with really good pizza in New Jersey (right outside of NYC). When I walked into this restaurant, it reminded me of when I was a kid. Bright, large room with metal tables and chairs, clippings from local school events - the whole nine yards. The first time I got my 2-slice pizza special, I noticed that the crust was perfect. Thin, soft so it was foldable (a common way to eat pizza in the NYC area), oil dripping from the copious amount of cheese on the slice. Then I bit into it. The sauce has no flavor or spicing. I didn't detect any oregano, garlic or other spice. Just blandness of tomato. I thought to myself - this just went from a 10 to a 2. What the heck? The thing it - I come here from time to time, getting the 2-slice pizza special and, for some reason, hoping for a different outcome. But, each time, my experience is exactly the same. Slice is perfectly cooked, foldable, oily from the cheese (sometimes too much oil, but that's OK), lots of cheese - and then sauce with no taste. I've added parmesan cheese and peppers from the available spice jars, but all that does is add those flavors and doesn't do anything to hide the fact that the sauce has no taste. It's unclear to me how people are crazy about this pizza. If they fixed the sauce, the pizza would be perfect. On the other hand, the place has been around for 33 years and people like it, so they must have found their clientele. The Staff are efficient, but not particularly friendly. That's fine, although I would expect more from a place that is family owned and operated.

It was ok pizza. Nothing i would come back for and like others have said the staff was more or less indifferent.

Been going here for over 20 years, forever! Really good pizza, NYC style, can also get discount movie tickets for theater next door. Great low prices too!

This place might have been good 10 years ago, but right now the food is flavorless, the pizza tastes like cardboard. There is a sign outside that says "best Philly cheese steak". I ordered it out of curiosity. Again, it was flavorless. I've had a cheese steak at the same price that actually had flavor.

This is a great place to come for a decent slice of NY style pizza before a movie. The food is good, but not great. They advertise as having the "best" Philly Cheesesteak ever, but don't be fooled, again, it's good, but not great. All the food I've tried is a bit on the greasy side. If you like pools of oil on your slice, you'll dig this place. Add some parm and let it soak it up, or do as I do and dab your slice with a napkin.

Pizza and staff were okay. Only encountered cashiers and nothing really stood out. But if you want pizza in the area that's not a major chain. This is your spot!

1/5 stars. Maybe we went on an off night (trying to give the restaurant the benefit of doubt since there’s so many high ratings). In sum, the pizza didn’t have much flavor. Both the dough and the sauce lacked seasoning & flavor. The mozz sticks were good. Feb 2024

Came to meet my husband & son for lunch. My son needed to use the restroom & it was honestly the most disgusting public restroom I’ve been in in a long time. The pizza is mediocre, super greasy.

So I don't know what is the hype about this place. The pizzas are just really mediocre at best and their non-pizza entrees are not even that good. Their makeshift sliced pizzas with toppings added are really so-so. My daughter got a sliced of Hawaiian and the toppings looked like it was just thrown on top after the cheese pizza was warmed up. The meatballs in my meatball sub was the worst I've ever tasted. The only that was good from our meal was the onion rings. There are much better pizza places out there, folks.

I had the hot chicken salad and it was delish! Those cooked onions made it!

Today I had the worst slice of pizza I have ever eaten in a pizza restaurant, in a setting that badly worn and half-dirty, provided to me by staff who did not know their jobs. I asked for a slice of vegetarian pizza (since it appeared on their menu). I was given a slice of reheated cheese pizza - and it was a sad slice at that, baked long ago and reheated. When I pointed out to them I had asked for a veggie slice it went back into the oven with some chopped green peppers, olives, and onions sprinkled on it. When it finally got to me that poor slice of pizza had been in the oven three times, and dough was baked to a crisp (though the onions were still raw). When I entered the shop (in Rockville) the door was filthy, and as I made my way to the counter I noticed that the walls were badly scuffed and marked, like that place hadn't been painted in decades. Countertops were losing their laminate covering. The floor was half-dirty. The owner would do well to consider training their staff, rethinking the ingredients and baking methods they use, and renovating their shop.

I don’t understand how this can even be compared to NY style pizza. It was paper thin and had absolutely no taste. I was baffled, how do you mess up pizza?!Don’t let the “2 slice & large coke combo” fool you, you can find a better way to spend your $8.
