The definition of quality over quantity. The authenticity is top notch, with a variety of Korean dishes to choose from.
That said, meats are a la cart, and combos are between $35 to $45 for the equivalent of 2 orders from an all you can eat.

One of the better (and authentic) Korean restaurants in the Rockville area. Usually quiet when I've eaten in there, and overall clean and friendly, with decent BBQ and good regular dishes.

There are a lot of good korean restaurants in Annandale, but worth hwa gae Jang is worth a trip, if making that trek out to virginia is too far away.

We had a very large party come in the other day after a funeral, and the staff was understandably overwhelmed at times, but they were very friendly throughout and the food was delicious. They did forget one item, which is completely understandable given how many items we ordered, but they brought it out shortly after.
Ultimately, everything was great and it was a really positive experience.

Pleasantly surprised by how delicious our dining experience was. I ate dinner here with my mother and grandmother, and from all three generations the food and service was praised. In recent years, too many Korean restaurants are making changes to accommodate the western palate resulting in the banchan, jigaes, or marinades tasting overly sweet. I am happy to say that today’s dining experience was not that! Everything tasted balanced as it should with Korean food: umami, sweet, salty, yum. I agree with other reviewers that serving sizes are generous and that the service was fast and hospitable. We ordered the Galbi, Jumulleok, and Kimchi Jigae. All three were delicious and I would recommend to anyone!

I’ve been going here since i first moved in the area 10 years ago, the food is absolutely so rich and delicious, i can’t even express how great this restaurant is.The food comes out fast, you get a variety of complimentary appetizers. To be fair, some of the workers don’t know English really well, but when it comes to food, it’s not that hard as the customer to understand what they are trying to say. But that’s how you know their food is super good /authentic.
The weekends are their busiest btw.

They have amazing rooms for parties too.

As a Korean, I can confidently say this place offers the most authentic K-BBQ experience in the area. It truly felt like a trip back home. The beef brisket (chadol-bagi) and pork belly (samgyeopsal) were incredibly fresh. I especially loved that they asked how thick I wanted the pork belly—I asked for thick slices, and they were perfect. The 'Ajummas' (Korean ladies) were so kind, grilling the meat and serving us with such warmth. My kids ate so well, too. This is now our official go-to spot for BBQ!

I love boyang tang which is goat soup. When you get tired of many things, it helps you awake yourself. Trust me. If you can eat goat, you should try this. Samgye tang was a bit smaller chicken than I was expecting.

I like their Jjampong and kimchi. I usually get the same takeout from here at least once a month. This is the only Korean restaurant where I don't like the seafood pancake. The flavor is fine, but the texture of the pancake is very different from other restaurants.

😠😠😓🙄😬Don't ever come here to eat! Especially if you're a foreigner. As soon as they find out you're not Korean, they'll change the ingredients in your food and serve you cabbage instead of meat. I have eaten Korean food many times before and have been to Korea. But at this restaurant, I didn’t know what kind of food I was going to eat. I actually ordered the most famous Korean dish, jeyuk bugim. My family wanted to have a Korean meal for a weekend dinner, but instead of spicy pork dumplings, they brought me 7 small pork slices with various vegetables and spices. I wondered if I had misread my order, but she replied that jeyuk bugim was like that. I didn’t recognize the dish that I had eaten a thousand times before. And they said wouldn’t charge for jeyuk bugim because i returned, but still over charge for jeyuk OMG.

I think this is my favorite Korean restaurant I've been to in moco. I liked everything I had, starting with their banchan, with the highlights being the kimchi, the potato and the fish cake. We ordered the BBQ Combo C, which included pork belly and ribeye. Both were very flavorful on their own and paired perfectly with the lettuce wraps, rice, and dipping sauces.

I have found a lot of times restaurants more focusing on BBQ fall short in the rest of the menu. But it was not the case here, as the cold noodles and cod stew were also delicious. We will definitely be back. Recommend!

Great cozy and authentic Korean Restaurant, the Jajangmyeon tasted amazing, the noodles tasted hand-pulled, the samgae-tang tasted great with salt on the side if you needed it. The side dishes were also amazing, loved their salad dressing and fish tofu.
