Really fantastic find. The spinach salad, short rib, and salmon all were superb, the desserts solid, and the service excellent. I will actively look forward to returning next time I'm in the area.
Busier than I would have expected fairly early in the evening and shortly after opening. They kindly seated us as walk-ins without a reservation anyway, but I got the sense that wasn't something to be able to count on.

My wife and I just ate this evening at Il Pizzico, and it was an amazing experience! We ate the calamari, the lentil soup, the mushroom ravioli with pistachio cream sauce, and drank the super Tuscan wine. The service was so good, the ambience was romantic and appreciated for our date night. Love the restaurant and food. Music would be nice. Arrived at 5:15 with 5 people was told he may need our table by 7pm and hovered over us . We spent nearly $300 but felt extremely uncomfortable. Server was fantastic but as a patron of over 20 years, it was rude and uncalled for. We finished at 7pm but it will be a while before I go back. What a shame especially because we are professionals and spend a lot of money.asked for a Cosmo and it came with grapefruit juice. I'm allergic but luckily, I smelled it before I drank it.

We recently were at a very highly rated (and priced) place downtown and had a frankly disappointing experience. Pizzico on the other hand was at least as good as we remembered. Food quality on par with the really good DC places at fair prices. Interesting preparations, either on or off menu (specials). Also, compared to what we've experienced in DC the service is as good as the food, attentive without attitude. We were left wondering what took us so long to go back. Highly recommended.
