I had the absolute pleasure of dining at this Ethiopian restaurant, and I cannot say enough about how wonderful the experience was. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by how clean and welcoming the restaurant felt. Selam, the owner, is truly a gem—her warmth and kindness immediately made us feel like family.
The service was exceptional—attentive, thoughtful, and full of care, which really elevated the entire dining experience. And then, of course, the food itself was out of this world. Every single dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with love. The spices were rich yet balanced, the injera was fresh and soft, and the variety of textures and tastes was nothing short of amazing. It was one of those meals where every bite makes you pause to savor it.
Overall, this was an unforgettable experience—delicious food, a spotless and welcoming space, and hospitality that makes you want to return again and again. Highly recommended!

we dined here on a sunday evening and it was so chill and the owner is so sweet! she personally served us and was very friendly and attentive. my partner and i love ethiopian food and have eaten it many times at many different places and when i tell you - this is THE BEST asa gulash i’ve ever eaten in my life!! the cook of the fish is perfect and the flavor of the stew is incredible. we got the #2 platter as well and the lamb and chicken were excellent, as well as the veg sides. but that fish… wow. so delicious! we can’t wait to come back.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in all of Rockville; super tasty, great vegetarian options, and a nice cozy atmosphere to sit down in. We even had them cater for our wedding this past June, which went amazingly, and introduced many of our family members to Ethiopian food for the first time (with great success)!

Came here last Friday with two of my friends for the first time and I loved it. The food and coffee were excellent, the server was really friendly and the atmosphere was quiet with good decorations.

Absolutely delicious! If I lived any closer, I'd honestly be in here every other day. The beef lega tibs hardly survives a night in my fridge to be considered 'leftovers', the staff is friendly, and the interior inviting.

Just ordered a dish here for the first time. I got it to go, I opened the box and was very surprised by the large portion size. They absolutely filled this box with food, and it was delicious.

I got the large veggie plate because I wanted to try everything, and wow. What a great decision. I’ve never had Ethiopian food before, and this was amazinggggg. I was only in town for work, but if I could go back more frequently absolutely would.
I actually got three meals out of this- surprisingly the leftovers were a great car lunch when I pulled over to a park to sit and eat.
Parking was very easy, and the price was great for the amount and quality of food. The owner was very nice and attentive.
This has definitely inspired me to seek out Ethiopian places near my home.

I was so severely disappointed with my meal on Friday. I’ve been eating at Ethiopis for at least two years so I’ve experienced some changes including the change in management/ownership.
I ordered my usual awaze tibs and sides (collard greens and chick peas). I’ve grown accustomed to the awaze tibs being tender strips of meat in a mildly spicy sauce. I haven’t been to the restaurant in a few months so I don’t know if the chef has changed or if it was a bad day but nothing tastes the same, not even the injera. The meat was tough, the awaze sauce tastes like barbecue sauce, and all of the sides were kind of sweet too… it was strange because the savory flavor of the food is what makes it so amazing and why I’ve been going for so long. The injera was thicker than usual which was disappointing. Overall a disappointing experience, moreso because I love this place and the woman is always so kind. I hope it was just a bad day and they’re not changing the recipes. Unfortunately I don’t have pictures because I threw the food away after a few bites, something I’ve never done at this place before, I’m usually using scraps of injera to scrape the corners of the container. I’m heartbroken (if you can’t tell).
