They never have ackee and saltfish. Like never. Come in on a Friday. "We only have it on Saturday" . Come in on Saturday. "We only have it on Friday". I won't be going back there are much better jamaican restaurants in the area.

I should have left when they said no pepper sauce. The food was flavorless. No spice whatsoever. And on top of that. Hair was in the cabbage. The place is dirty. Reflecting. They don't wear hair nets. Place is just disgusting and never again.

Let me start off by saying that I'm Jamaican, and I have visited multiple Jamaican restaurants in Maryland. I was in Rockville and decided to stop by for a beef patty and cocoa bread. I was extremely surprised at the service I received at this spot. This is the first Jamaican restaurant I've visited in Maryland that provided good customer service. I was so shocked that I ended up ordering more food than I intended to just because of the good service. The employees were pleasant and did not have an attitude When I walked in I was greeted by an older lady at the register. It was my first time so I was not familiar with the ordering process. She directed me to a lady to her left that could take my order. It's looked like they were preparing for the lunch rush because there were multiple employees on hand waiting for customers. The ordering process was easy and efficient. The beef patty was hot and the crust was flaky. I also got the oxtail with white rice. That was tasty as well. I would definitely stop by again when I'm in the area.

I Love supporting black own businesses especially black Immigrant businesses but this place needs to be shut down. The food is not authentic Jamaican. The Jerk Sauce has no flavor you cannot even tast or smell the pimento. They really need to work on their flavoring. The first time i ordered here it was so bad i put it in the Trash today i decided to order for my coworker and she was like never again, the food was so bad. They need to shut down and work on flavoring. The Jerk, Oxtail, Brown Stew all have no taste/flavor. This is not Jamaican cooking especially the ones the grandmothers and aunties used to make back are yard.WORK ON THE FLAVOR OF THE FOOD. THE JERK SAUCE HAS NO PIMENTO AND SCOTCH BONET.

I am from Miami, ordered food while visiting. Horrible food - Im embarrassed the restaurant is even called island pride - think im lying? Their Brownstew chicken is pink - the sauce and chicken are pink, Whose non cooking pretend youtube “chef” is making this food? Its called Brownstew chicken both the chicken and stew should be dark brown . This is sad, dont waste your time or money. Clowns?

Fire food, don't judge a book by its cover cause this will rock your world. 10/10 would come again

I got a chicken and a beef pattie. Both were very good. It's a small storefront with a few tables so not much "atmosphere". Would try it again if I'm in the area.

The food was not as good as the original location. My curry chicken was definitely not made fresh. I was very disappointed with this location, next time I will drive a few miles down to the better location.

Everything was bland. Oxtails weren’t braised all the way. Cabbage was hard. I tossed the entire tray. Used to have good oxtail plate. Quality of everything has gone down hard. Finding another spot. Waste of good

I was disappointed in the quality and price of the food here. I saw that it was a popular lunch time spot but the food was neither cheap nor fresh. I got the large oxtail stew with extra jerk chicken and sides of plantains and cabbage and mixed vegetables. I would argue that this is one of those places where the large is not worth paying for. The sides were both very standard but the cabbage was overly oily. Most of the meat you get, especially the oxtail, is just large pieces of bone which decreases its value even more. As for the actual taste, the oxtail was tender and was braised in a stew but the stew was extremely bland and had a mushy bean texture. For the extra side of jerk chicken, I got three pieces which was reasonable for the extra $8 but the chicken wasn’t very tasty. It seemed like regular chicken doused in a spiced sauce or gravy that was too strong to be pleasant. I would not come here again.

Taste is there, quality is there, and quantity is definitely there! I have been a loyal customer for about eight years now, and nothing has changed. Amazing, and prices are reasonable!
