Food was pretty good; the amount of bacon in the bagel sandwich was generous.

I knew ahead of time from another review (and defensive owner reply) that there would be an extra fee, and there is a big sign, but it doesn’t sit well with me either that there’s a $1 surcharge for eggs after egg prices have gone back down.

If it isn’t really about the eggs, and is not really intended to be a temporary fee, they should just transparently raise menu prices.

Great bagels but something has changed the bagels aren't the right shaped or have the right puff like they use to. I still love the sandwiches but hard to justify the trip to get it when the quality of the bagels has gone down

Discovered this yummy spot walking to work at Pike and Rose. Been hitting it everytime I come to the office. The food is fresh and delicious. Pricing is quite reasonable! Keep it up!!

Bagels are really good, and so is the chicken salad. But chicken salad doesn't really work on a bagel because when you bite it, all the chicken salad slops out of the front.

They play actual movies on the TV, last time I went it was James Cameron's masterpiece - Titanic.

God-tier bagels. I have been ordering from local bagelries in Maryland for years, i always get whole wheat everything, and there is NO whole wheat everything bagel like this place makes a whole wheat everything bagel. After i pull one of these out of the freezer at home (i usually buy a baker’s dozen and freeze ‘em for later) and put it in the toaster, it has a thick crunchy crust and impossibly soft interior. If heaven exists, they must be serving these bagels. I’m eating one with salted avocado & lime juice right now, its a true delicacy!!

The Washington Post didn’t to Ize’s justice. The bagels reminded me of my youth in New York City. Correct taste and texture. Worth a visit.

The quality of the food here is terrible. Einstein bagel bros down the street is way better in the quality of their bagels and work ethic. The Spanish ladies here ant Izes are racist to their own kind. Rude and disrespectful. They had us wait 20 minutes to receive our order while they were only handing out orders to predominantly Caucasian people and when I asked where our food was, they hadn’t even made it. I had to stand in front of the cash register in order to receive our food almost half an hour later for two bagel sandwiches. Disgusting. That was my first experience there. And I’m not going back. Spend your money somewhere else and support another business.

It pains me to give this deli a low rating. Their food is wholesome and wonderful. However, I can’t help but notice that the owner is still adding an up charge for any dish ordered with an egg even though the bird flu and the resulting supply and demand issues are now over. Such actions erode trust and prevent the shop from building a repeat customer base. I unfortunately will be taking my business to another wholesome shop (there are many to choose from) that builds better trust and partnership with its customer base and isn’t so short sighted and transactional.

Response to the owner: Thank you for your response. I suggest posting a sign with clear transparency that there is an up charge for every egg related order and what that up charge amount is. I didn't single sign there when I was in. This way customers don't feel blindsided when you ring them up. I completely understand that these unexpected costs need to trickle down to the customers, but at minimum customers should be informed ahead of time. You have a wonderful product but the exchange doesn't build a good experience. During the times of uncertainty, clear communication and transparency can to your customer base can only help. I wish you all the best as well!

If you are looking for a good bagel, look no further. My personal favorite is the marble rye.
