I do not normally take the time to write reviews, but as a military member who just came off a long shift serving this country, tonight was truly disappointing. I decided to stop by the Papa John’s on Rockville Pike to grab a quick dinner for my family and me. I was tired, hungry, and just looking forward to a decent meal.
The moment I walked in, I could immediately tell something was off. The atmosphere felt extremely unprofessional. A group of young employees, maybe around 20 to 24 years old, were standing around laughing, goofing off, and giving little attention to customers or the work environment. I got bad vibes right away, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt because everyone has off days… and I wanted to support local workers.
I ordered a large pizza and traditional wings. I patiently waited, hoping the food would make up for the chaotic first impression. But when I got home, what I opened absolutely shocked me.
The pizza looked thrown together carelessly. The dough was undercooked, soft and doughy in the middle, and the cheese wasn’t even fully melted. It was as if it was rushed out of the oven far too early. Then I checked the wings… and they were not cooked properly either. Anyone could look at them and see they were not safe to eat. After a long day, this was the last thing I expected.
It was extremely disheartening, especially after trusting them with my hard-earned money and hoping for just a simple meal. Instead, I left feeling like no one cared, from the unprofessional behavior I witnessed to the lack of care put into the food.
I will never be recommending this location to anyone, and I strongly suggest others avoid it as well. I hope the management steps up and takes action, because customers deserve better. Especially those who walk in after a long day serving their communities and this nation.

I try to order the lunch special pizza at 3:56om. The worker told me I was talking too fast and to slow down. I then repeated my order. The worker then said hold a second. Then the general manager Danielle stated it just turned 4:00pm on the noise so she can’t sell me the lunch special. I would not recommend this location. The general manager Danielle is unprofessional and refuse people the right to order the lunch by 4pm.

It's a shame that I have to leave this bad 1 star review because I really like Papa Johns pizza. I didn't leave a review after the first incident, instead decided to give a second try. Due to my hours at the hospital there's not that many places open after midnight in the area and I didn't want to eat McDonald's again and too exhausted to go home and try to figure out what to eat. So I thought why not pick up a pizza. I left the hospital a little bit late so I arrived at Papa John's at 12: 35a. I literally just saw them close the doors and asked are you closed because it says on the website open till 1am. They said during the weekdays they close carry out at 12:30 I said well it's just 5 minutes can I order a pizza. Matthew wanted to help me but his manager Daniel said no. There is only one good person there on nights. Matthew tried to help me but his Manager Daniel overrode him. Daniel said I had to order delivery only I said I am standing in front of you literally with my car in front of you just 5 min difference you can't have clothes your registers yet I can pay with a card instead of cash if necessary. Can I just order a pizza? He said no again without offering any suggestions. So I said why does your website say you're open till 1:00 a.m. and he said that's for delivery I said well can you just put in the order as if it's a delivery and he said no. He insisted he could not help me. Matthew offered to take the delivery order to me if I just put in the address next door. When I went to go and put in the order for delivery I found that I would be charged $6 when I'm literally in front of the store. At this point I googled what other stores are open near me and found that Popeyes was open until 1:00 a.m.. so subsequently Popeyes got my business and Papa John will never get my business again. As I stayed at this was the second poor customer service incident. The first was when I called Papa John's a week ago on my way home from the hospital placed the order it said by the time I got to them that it was ready I walked in the gentleman said it wasn't ready even though I could see a box on the shelf he was cleaning he made me wait 20 minutes while he finished cleaning and then I said could you check on my pizza and he found it was on the shelf my pizza was cold when I got home and it was not palatable. I literally ate one size because I was exhausted and then threw the rest of the trash. When I looked at these reviews today I found that they were in the three-star range many of them being negative reviews I was very surprised because again I love Papa John's Pizza I used to eat it where I used to live and it's such a disappointment now to not be able to go to this one due to the poor customer service. I hope a manager above the current managers in the store reads this because you really should do something about your service. The one other time that I had interaction like this was when we ordered pizzas as a business for delivery for a group of nurses and it took forever and it was cold but we assumed it was because some deliveries have difficulties delivering to hospitals. If I would have known it would have been this difficult I would have eaten at the hospital.

I use to come here all the time and the quality of pizza has really declined over the years and so has the customer service. I stopped coming here because of this nasty manager named Jamal or whatever his name is. He’s very rude, he doesn’t greet you, he doesn’t even acknowledge you. Today is the last time I buy from here, he completely ignored me and another customer while at the register, doing NOTHING. We had to get assistance from someone in the back making the pizzas. I don’t understand how you have a manager like that running your store !!!
Elderly person failed to get a delivery on a coke snowy night. Order made through Instacart. Plus was charged an unreasonable amount with a tip. No show or lack of delivery.

The atmosphere is basically me waiting for my pizza but the manager was very nice and attentive and the staff was doing a good job making the pizzas. They actually took their time and did it right.

Staff seem ok. Pizza was very sad. Maybe it was a time management issue as I ordered online, recieved a 15 min pick up window got there within the window. When I got home (5 mins away) it resembled day old pizza, which is good but not on day 1. Won't be returning : (
