I recently purchased catfish from Safeway, and I am absolutely horrified by the quality. The fish was *rotten*—slimy, with a strong, foul odor that hit me as soon as I opened the package. It was clearly way past its prime, and I can't believe it was even on the shelf, let alone sold to customers.
the smell lingered in my kitchen for hours, even after throwing it away. Zero stars if I could.

We ordered a 1/2 sheet purple unicorn cake for our son’s birthday party yesterday on Oct 27,2024. However, I was given a 1/4 sheet cake in pink and charged for the higher price of $53.99. When I did the order on the phone 2 weeks ago, the lady told me the 1/2 sheet cake would be around $45. I didn’t have time to keep fighting and accepted a small discount of $6. When we got home we found out online that the price for 1/4 sheet is 29$. It’s maddening that they gave me a cake in wrong color, half the size and charged the price for 1/2 sheet!!

Almond milk was on sale. Grabbed the first two off of the shelf. Sell by date was January 2023! It's February 2023! So this milk has literally been sitting for months because it's past the sell by date and someone thought this was okay to sell to customers. Wasted my time and money.

The employees at this Safeway act like 7 y/o brats without supervision. They are rude, lazy, and curse out customers. When they make mistakes, they refuse to fix them in a timely manner. They lie to customers and seem to enjoy doing whatever they can to not work and make customers angry. All the employees here need to be retrained or replaced. I did not appreciate being cursed out today by Keith after my order was completely messed up, the employees lied about when it would be fixed, then lied again when that time passed. It took several calls and several more lies on their end to get the problem fixed, in a way that still was not acceptable. Do better!

The store is always understaffed, that's a management decision. The folks we do work with are friendly and helpful and do the best they can.
We particularly love Erica, the barista at the Starbucks kiosk. She's bright and cheerful and helped us feel better when the lockdowns were really getting to us. When things were really strange earlier in the year and almost everything was closed, the in-store Starbucks was a breath of fresh air and normalcy. A lot of that had to do with Erica. Even now that the full store is open right next door, we prefer to go into Safeway for our coffee... which usually ends up with us spending a lot on groceries too!

Actually I love The Shady Grove Safeway..but,I wanted to say something that I believe is important. This year for Christmas decor we had "White" Christmas Elves for decorations.

This is NOT realistic. You need to update this..Generalizing isn't cool...I think that kids and adults alike would appreciate seeing elves of ALL colors.
We do not live in a WHITE world. I.am "White"if you were see me, ,but, I am also some other nationalities as are others around me.
We need to celebrate and appreciate ALL nationalities on earth! We are ALL special!!
Christmas elves are all races as well as beautiful colors too! We are a melting pot of ethnicities and we all need to totally embrace this!
