I dived in with a few Taiwanese classics: the beef noodle soup—broth rich yet balanced, hearty chunks of beef shank, and noodles with just the right chew. The oyster pancake arrived next, brimming with plump oysters and crispy edges, a savory bite that had me smiling after every forkful. And the salt-and-pepper fried chicken? Spectacularly juicy and perfectly seasoned, the kind that had me eyeing the plate as I finished off.
Got the meatball (肉圆, more of a huge glutinous dumpling), thinly sliced beef with peppers, three cup chicken (三杯鸡), radish pancake/omelette, steamed fish filet, and yu cai (油菜). Also got a little bowl of ground meat on rice (卤肉饭) which also comes with a tea egg. Everything was very tasty, and very Taiwanese. Highly recommend the meatball (I'm not sure that this is a great translation though, it's not really a meatball) and the beef with peppers.
