⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem in St. Michaels!
Golden Hour is a true hidden gem tucked away in my hometown of St. Michaels. The town has grown by leaps and bounds since I moved away 20 years ago, and this place is such a welcome addition to the local restaurant and bar scene.
It’s a small-batch rum distillery with a tiki-speakeasy vibe, and every cocktail we tried was spot-on—balanced, creative, and clearly made with care. The owner was genuinely pleasant and welcoming, and her sister—who was tending bar and waiting tables—was one of the nicest, most attentive people you could meet.
They even helped us brainstorm ideas for our Halloween costumes and spent time chatting with us like we were old friends. That kind of warmth and hospitality is rare these days. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, the décor has personality, and the cocktails are top-notch. St. Michaels is lucky to have such a fun little place. If you’re looking for great drinks, genuine people, and an unforgettable local experience, Golden Hour is absolutely worth your time

Loads of chips. Come here for the chips. Was waiting for my pizza from Ava’s which I guess takes a good 1.6 hours to make when they AREN’T busy. The chips really hit the spot.
Oh, I almost forgot. The drinks were amazing too. All the rum in the Mai Tai. Make sure to check in on what they are R&D’ing at the moment. They also offer half sized drinks if you don’t want to party too hard.

Came here after a recommendation from the distillery. This was a fun surprise on our trip! The bar is located inside an unlabeled building but once you walk inside it was hopping! The service was great! The overall atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant with nice music. Very fast service and good recommendations! They even continued the rum sampling if you wanted those as well. The place seemed very clean and well looked after. Like other reviewers suggested, other snack options would be nice but you can't complain about complimentary potato chips.
