First, I don't generally leave reviews. There aren't usually resturants that distinguish themselves enough to take the time to leave a review. But I just had dinner at Plates at 208 Talbot for my birthday. As a pescatarian with a meat allergy, it's hard to find a resturant that has a lot of options. Plates at 208 had vegetarian and vegan options, as well as plenty of meat options! There were several pescatarian options that all sounded really good. We had the mezza platter as an appetizer. I had the harvest vegetables and the baklava and espresso for dessert. My husband had the pork chops and Turkish pudding for dessert. Everything tasted great and the presentation was beautiful. If you are visiting or live in St. Michaels, you should definitely give it a try.

If I could give this place a 0 for human decency, I would. As a full-time resident of Maryland’s Eastern Shore and a regular visitor to St. Michaels and the surrounding areas, I’m deeply disappointed by the lack of care this establishment shows for maintaining the standards and charm of a historic Eastern Shore town. It’s clear the proprietor has little regard for the community or its values. We will absolutely continue to visit the area—we live here, after all—but we will never support this business.
And the owner’s defensive response only reinforces my point. In a small-town business, the right approach would be to take responsibility—not to dismiss concerns and alienate both visitors and locals who are simply trying to enjoy their time here. Blaming another local business instead of reflecting on your own actions is not just unprofessional—it’s a terrible look. You might want to reconsider how you handle feedback because this kind of attitude won’t go unnoticed.

Seafood tangine was delicious. The milk pudding with Turkish cotton candy was one of the most unique desserts I've had in along time. So good! Staff was very friendly.

Ate dinner here Christmas Eve. The food is incredible. Kudos to the chef! He nailed it! Atmosphere is elegant laid back. Fine dining without the need to dress up. Architecture of the three historical establishments turned into one restaurant is eclectic and interesting. Owner has really put a beautiful spin with her decorating choices. Food excellence? TICK. Atmosphere? TICK. Cocktails? TICK . This should be on your St Michael’s restaurant “bucket list”. Seriously, if you are looking for an elegant meal in a relaxed environment—don’t miss this gem.

We visited Plates at 208 on 12/14/24. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Our party of 4 enjoyed the Cilantro Lime Shrimp appetizer and the fresh focaccia bread and gluten free bread. The entrees we ordered were lamb shank, lamb lollipops, steak topped with crab & shrimp and salmon with orange glaze. All entrees were beautifully plated. The salmon was out of this world with the orange glaze. The staff was very attentive and very friendly. I would give this dining experience 10 out of 10.
We had a wonderful vegetarian meal at Plates at 208 on Sunday night, Nov. 9, as only freshly prepared Middle Eastern fare can provide!

First off… oh… my… god….
We came in the apparent off season and the town seemed like it was closed down. We strolled down the street, enjoying the cool night air, ducks in hand, looking for a nice place for a couple drinks and a meal.
While walking past the first thing we all thought was wow, what a cool name! Turned out we were just in time for happy hour and decided to stop in for a quick drink.
We were quickly enraptured by the best service I think we have ever had. Such a great experience from beginning to end. We absolutely left feeling like family, and would 100% recommend Plates at 208 to anyone and everyone.
Please do yourself a favor and stop in for a meal and please make sure to get the pumpkin baklava. 10/10

The Food of my People…
My neighbor had suggested we go here to surprise her son (whom is a waiter). The food didn’t disappoint! I am Lebanese and the food is fantastic along with the warm and friendly staff. We tried the Fattoush (tasted just like the one my grandma used to make), Falafel with hummus, Cilantro Shrimp, and Sahara Chips with tomatoes and feta. I will definitely be back! I have already told my parents to go!
The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Each room has a different theme. There is Greece, Spain, Syria, Morocco, and Italy (which is outside). The decorations in each room were hand-picked by the owner, Aida.
Thank you to the amazing staff and atmosphere!

To begin the atmosphere here is so beautiful. Each room is decorated so differently. When you walk in you’re greeted by the most amazing people and then you’re taken to a room that fits you. Solitude is what you desire? You got it! 208 has the best food as well. Makes you feel like you’re wining and dining in the Mediterranean. Definitely need to visit when going through this quaint little town. 🥰

The staff and atmosphere was so welcoming. Highly recommend it - Started with Happy Hour in Tavern, dinner in the Greek room and topped it off with Espresso Martini for dessert!
We wanted something full of flavor and this is in line with the best of places in Chicago, San Francisco and Santa Fe - we began with Muhummra Halabeya and KNEW we had hit the right place. We ordered Dejaj de Mediterranean (chicken with tomato, spinach and garlic on jasmine rice in roasted pine nut butter and the (vegetarian) Moroccan Harvest with harissa (homemade). The surroundings are venerable and renowned for "fine dining" in St. Michaels and this finely crafted fair gives a new and world-connected spin to that name. It is worth a drive to be there - and to enjoy the care of the owner who comes to share family recipe stories. It is both luxe and very warm and unpretentious. What a treat!

This place is absolutely amazing! The outside might make you 2nd guess going in, but you would be missing out! The food and staff were both amazing!!! As someone who is on the basic end when it comes to trying new food, I'm so glad I decided against the urge of not trying something new! We ordered two different dinners, and they were absolutely worth it! For our app, we had the shara chips, Delicious! We had the filet loaded with shrimp and crab meat, cooked to perfection! Came with a wonderful mashed potato and asparagus. Also, I got the orange glazed salmon with jasmine rice!! For dessert, we tried the Turkish pudding, didn't disappoint!!@ Must go to if they are open!!!!

I'm hard to impress when it comes to food a often restaurants disappoint me, but Plates at 208 was fantastic. We sat at the bar to partake of the happy hour appetizers and wound up staying for dinner. The bartender was fun to chat with and she made good cocktails while simultaneously taking care of gettingbour beautifully prepared food to use quickly. Everything was delicious, from the proteins, to the veggies, to the dessert. If you are visiting St. Michaels definitely get a meal there.
