Delicious, fresh home cooked meal. It was an unexpected treat to be offered gluten free pita bread also. Nice atmosphere also. Very nice servers. Food Network needs to come here.

We had four for dinner last night, every entree was overcooked and dry with small portions. Appetisers were uninspired with dry room temp pita. EXTREMELY expensive for very poor quality Mediterranean fare. “Best part of the meal was the toffee on the way out the door.”

What an unexpected delight. The food was absolutely delicious. The staff are gracious and friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. This is a really unique find in in St. Michaels. Not your standard crab cake kind of stuff. Really delicious, creative Mediterranean experience.

What a great restaurant! The staff is incredible and the food is great. We had a wonderful milk and cheese board. Then we had a lentil soup and I got the red snapper. Wow look at this!

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Plates at 208. The food was excellent and service was friendly, helpful, and fun. We were sad to see that the restaurant was a bit empty because it was probably the best meal we had in St. Michael’s while we were there. We had the Meza platter, dolmas, and the whole red snapper. I asked the chef to recommend a wine to go with our meal and they did not disappoint. Everything was amazing and the fish was delicious and beautifully presented. If you’re in town please give them a try!

Plates at 208 in St. Michael’s, Maryland, offers a warm and inviting dining experience that truly feels like home. Despite a rocky start with staffing challenges, the team—led by the passionate owner, Aida—turned the night around, delivering exceptional hospitality and heartfelt flavors from her country and brought them to the Eastern Shore. With lively entertainment like a mesmerizing belly dancer, this spot is a must-try for anyone looking for great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a place where guests quickly feel like family.

An absolutely delicious meal that was made complete by having succulent meatballs, alluring body dancers and the most incredible deserts.

First, I don't generally leave reviews. There aren't usually resturants that distinguish themselves enough to take the time to leave a review. But I just had dinner at Plates at 208 Talbot for my birthday. As a pescatarian with a meat allergy, it's hard to find a resturant that has a lot of options. Plates at 208 had vegetarian and vegan options, as well as plenty of meat options! There were several pescatarian options that all sounded really good. We had the mezza platter as an appetizer. I had the harvest vegetables and the baklava and espresso for dessert. My husband had the pork chops and Turkish pudding for dessert. Everything tasted great and the presentation was beautiful. If you are visiting or live in St. Michaels, you should definitely give it a try.

If I could give this place a 0 for human decency, I would. As a full-time resident of Maryland’s Eastern Shore and a regular visitor to St. Michaels and the surrounding areas, I’m deeply disappointed by the lack of care this establishment shows for maintaining the standards and charm of a historic Eastern Shore town. It’s clear the proprietor has little regard for the community or its values. We will absolutely continue to visit the area—we live here, after all—but we will never support this business.

And the owner’s defensive response only reinforces my point. In a small-town business, the right approach would be to take responsibility—not to dismiss concerns and alienate both visitors and locals who are simply trying to enjoy their time here. Blaming another local business instead of reflecting on your own actions is not just unprofessional—it’s a terrible look. You might want to reconsider how you handle feedback because this kind of attitude won’t go unnoticed.
