Cakes by David has the best tasting cake in the area! They did an incredible job with a very ornate cake for my daughter's wedding, and have been able to provide any crazy thing we asked for on special occasions. They are the best!

HORRIBLE! I reached out to them to inquire about getting a birthday cake made for my mother and they never reached back out. Highly unprofessional. Don't waste your time. Try other bakeries on the Shore who are more professional with better tasting cakes such as Classic Cakes, Cake Art, and Sugar Rush.

Today I called to inquire about their cakes, was very interested in what I had review on their site, but I asked about how to cut the cakes and immediately she assumed I was going to get someone else to make it. I was offended. Just to ask a question about cutting?? You can go on the web to find out how to cut a 3 tier cake. The lady who answered the phone was rude. I asked about the filling in the cakes to see what they offered, I don't know what they have and it is not listed on their site. I gave her every opportunity to tell me what they could do, what they had but she seemed uninterested in my inquiry. She had an opportunity to sell me that cake right over the phone but instead she assumed I was trying to get over on her from my question. So I guess they are not interested in my business. I am disappointed, because I liked what I seen on their site but I want to work with someone who wants my business and not offend me for asking questions. It's my responsibility to ask so that I know what is available to me and what I am paying for.

The woman on the phone was very very rude and hard to work with! The cake we sampled was disgusting and I will never be going back. Be warned, you will NEVER GET YOUR MONEY BACK! The icing tasted like lard and stuck to our lips like chapstick. NEVER GO HERE!

I called to see if they sold slices of cake. The lady on the phone said no (rudely) and said so who would I sell the rest of the cake to. I've been to different cake shops and they all carry slices. What if you don't like the whole cake.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Asked for cookies that say "Hello Third Grade". When I came to pick them up they say "Hell-o third grade". When I said I was not happy with the spelling the only thing I got was a refund, not the cookies I asked for. When I said I was very unhappy they could not spell hello she said you must be a schoolteacher. So now I gotta be a teacher to spell hello correctly. They were also POOR QUALITY it looked like they wrote the words on with a marker and not icing. $72 for 24 cookies that look like I could have made them myself. NEVER AGAIN. Wish I could give zero stars because zero is what they did for me!
Bought 2 in Summer 2021 and all were happy. Returning to David’s May 2022. From Baltimore to Salisbury to Ocean City.

We ordered a cake that was supposed to be Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony.Cons: It was incorrectly colored, missing wings and didn't have the cutie mark. My daughter couldn't recognize the character. The cake was supposed to be rainbow tie-dye inside but it was just a strangely and sparingly dripped food coloring in a tastless, cheap box cake mix. The icing had a terrible taste and a thick texture that left a residue in your mouth.Pros: the cake was ordered and finished the next day in a very timely manner. The message on the cake was written along the side edge and didn't interfere with the picture. The box in came in was nice. Customer service in the ordering process was seamless.Overall, I would not recommend this bakery due to the extremely poor taste of the cake itself. The attached picture was emailed to the baker to use as a reference.

Thank you! We ordered two pies (lemon meringue and key lime) and a Smith Island carrot cake for our son's graduation party (his choice). Cakes by David did not disappoint. These treats were wonderful.
