This place never disappoints. Everytime my husband and I go the staff is always polite and my food is delicious. Yesterday I tried a garden salad with added chicken and my, my, my AGAIN 10/10. Great flavor, presentation and the portion size was amazing 👏🏽 Keep up the great work Candied Yams. Consistent good service is hard to find and you guys have mastered it 🙂
I ordered chicken and dumplings it was nothing short of can food. Too salty. Candied yams was too sweet. The fried chicken was good. Macaroni salad got over cold cooked. Not a real soul food restaurant even black folks cooking.

OMG!!! That dinner was one of the best soul food meals I have ever had!! Fried chicken was crispy and delicious, candied yams seasoned to perfection and sweet, and the Mac and cheese was great! The bread pudding was off the charts. Some of the best bread pudding I’ve ever had. Atmosphere was good and clean. They even played smooth jazz that reminded me of the early 2000s. Kam was our waiter, he was courteous, funny, and was a delight. After our meal I did a little happy shimmy. 10/10!

I was in town for one night for business and googled restaurants and came across this place. The name drew me in as I love yams and they did NOT disappoint. Across the board five stars. Our waiter Kam could not have been nice enough. My son wouldn’t shut up about his greens and the fried and baked chicken were fire. The yams though… oh my GOD they’re good. Legit had two helpings. Cannot say enough about this place.
