The Irish Penny Pub & Grill

Its a hidden treasure in the middle of south Salisbury in my opinion. Our food was presented nicely and very hot. We will return!

I have NEVER had a bad meal or experience here. I love their corned beef and cabbage eggrolls.(AWESOME W/ A GREAT DIPPING SAUCE) I tried a boxie, also with corned beef and cabbage! Wonderful grain mustard; and of course a Guinness. I love this place. I wish they would come to Delaware! Nice crowd!

Server is helpful and food great. It's a bar this like any bar it's noisy. Great french onion soup.

Parking: Parking lot is shared with other stores in the strip mall.

Wheelchair accessibility: If your in a wheelchair it's easy to get to the front door. The door is not automatic. Suggest you go with someone to assist with opening the door.

We tried to eat here because the reviews were good and people noted how friendly they were. We were very disappointed when we walked in and the hosted looked at us in shock. She didn’t know what to do with 5 people because they had the big table ready for a group. She said they only had booths and looked at us in dismay. We were shocked that she didn’t offer to put a chair at the end or anything. We were offered no options. Just sorry. The place was mostly empty as it was before 5pm on Wednesday night. We had to leave with a hungry , now crying baby and go find somewhere else. I was upset when leaving this review, but I am not going to leave a low star because the place is clearly good. I would love to try it sometime if we are in the area again. We were just really bummed after having researched to find a great place to eat, settled on this, and then they had not seating for us. But it isn't fair to give low stars for this one time experience. I can't rate the food, but the atmosphere seemed nice. The service was disappointing as mentioned, but the response from the owner was commendable.

What a great find for passing through. Christine the bartender was so personable and friendly. We felt at home. Great happy hour specials on food and drinks . Every dish we ordered was a 5 star.
Great selection of everything. Highly recommend this spot!!

personally organized our Democratic watch party at the Irish Penny immediately following the Democratic convention, and I made sure the event was clearly outlined and approved by the owner. However, on Monday, the owner called me, upset and demanding I cancel the event. I refused, and he then said he would reduce the volume. I agreed and ended the call. Yesterday, he called again, yelling and stating that since he gave me a chance to cancel, he would now cancel the reservations himself. He also mentioned that based on his observations on Facebook, he assumed our attendees would be “old white women” (no offense) and expressed that he didn’t want such an event or any media coverage at his establishment.

Firstly, I had clearly communicated the nature of the event from the start, and he should have raised any concerns earlier. Secondly, it’s the public that supports his business. Thirdly, when it comes to money and business, political affiliations should not overshadow the value of customer . Roadie Joe's turned out to be much better venue. What a blessing in disguise

My family and I went to the Irish Penny on my birthday. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I ate one of the best burgers I've found around Salisbury. We also brought home one of the giant pretzels and it was delicious. I definitely recommend.
