Dined Saturday, August 15th, 2026. My wife and I ordered the “Large Plate” with Salmon. You would expect to receive a piece of salmon larger than 4 ounces for $27.00. However, this was not the case as the large plate was mostly white rise and grilled broccolini. The salmon was overcooked. It may have even been microwaved before being tossed on a grill. Service was mediocre at best. I’m not a fan of their food service and quality. The Dive Bar needs to do better.
The best kept secret in Howard County!
My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to catch a particular sports game on a random weeknight. A big thanks to Antonio for his help in making it happen and his good service.

Dive Bar and Grille in Savage Mill offers a casual dining experience with a large menu and a diverse selection of drinks, including 1/2 price drafts during happy hour. Guests have praised the warm welcome from the host and attentive service from staff, particularly highlighting the southern quesadilla and drunken shrimp for their great flavors. However, reviews reflect a mix of experiences with service, ranging from efficient during busy times to slow and unresponsive during less crowded visits.
The ambiance is relaxed, featuring live music from a neighboring venue, and there are multiple seating options for both small and large groups. While the food has its hits, like the burgers and sandwiches, some guests found certain dishes like the wings lacking in crispiness, and desserts were seen as an afterthought. The establishment has also been noted for its inclusive single-stall restrooms and weekday specials. Overall, Dive Bar and Grille is considered a decent spot for drinks and casual dining, but there are concerns about service consistency and attention to detail.
