The carne asada didn’t taste good and it was tough still have the after taste of the carne asada I was hoping that I was going to get a better beef I will not order that again.
One more thing.
Every customer should have the right to order their meat cooked at any temperature they prefer even if is rare or well done.
Other than that the device was great.

Shrimp was amazing. Cooked 3 ways.
There was some miscommunication and a wait for drinks.

Too much money for little food, they exaggerate. We agree that the situation is difficult, but they go too far and it is a place, sir, manager or owner, all they do is run people away. Personally, I would never recommend it to other people.??

The paella was not flavorful and did not have the ingredients that were advertised. I wouldn’t recommend this dish to anyone! Tacos were delicious but tacos filling were suboptimal. Spent over three hundred dollars but was not worth it! Service was great!!

Too much waiting, only 2 cooks for so many people and on a Sunday, delicious food but poor service.

This restaurant describes itself as "fine Mexican and Latin American dining", so maybe I set my expectations too high based on the "fine dining". There was nothing wrong with the food I ordered, but it did not meet expectations. The Shrimp Tacos ($20) were meagerly filled, and served with white rice(?) and a small portion of beans. The atmosphere is lively and the staff was friendly.

I ordered fajitas. It came with meat and about 8 tiny slivers of onion (maybe 1/16 of an onion). Half of the onion slivers were raw. No tomatoes, no peppers.
Service was lousy. They made it feel like placing an order after we'd been sitting there 30 minutes was an inconvenience to them. Then it took a long time to get our meal. A basic meal took 95 minutes.

One thing I value in a restaurant is consistency. And Azucar has consistency in spades!
And - in a good way!
The food is exceptional, the staff are genuine, engaging and attentive but not overbearing. And the atmosphere is pleasant, genuine but not overdone.
I’ve eaten there on average twice a month for the past few years and I’ve yet to be disappointed. I’m just a gringo but I adore the ceviche, fish soup and the various standard platters.
I usually attend with my 97 year old father-in-law and we’ve done just fine in both the restaurant and eating at the bar, of course with an occasional margarita and or Stella on tap.
I was exceptionally impressed this evening when as we were leaving, my father-in-law was having some difficulty descending the two steps from the bar to the restaurant when out of the blue, someone, apparently from the kitchen popped up and offered a strong hand to help him down.
I can’t tell you how grateful we were for that helping hand.
Highly recommend the place!
