My boyfriend and I were visiting in the area and wanted to try something new. We have always been curious about Ethiopian cuisine and this part of the country has a noticeable populatuon. After doing some Google reviews we decided on Beteseb and we do not regret it! From the moment we sat down to our meal being brought, our server was extremely helpful since this was our first experience with Ethiopian food. There was so much flavour it blew out our taste buds and the textures succulent and juicy. Truly an amazing experience and highly recommend.

Came here on a Saturday night, the restaurant was pretty empty. Service was fine. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the lamb dish with a salad. I honestly could not believe how well seasoned it was. It was perfection.

We stop here every time we visit the DC area. The food is impeccable and the coffee is some of the best I've ever had. Definitely stop here if you're in the area.

Kitfo and Firfir combo!
Experience was meh. Mid. I’ve had better in MD. There’s better even on that same block. Literally…I had the beegees after eating here.

Test 1: are the Habesha people here? Very few. Most of the clientele were white tonight.Test 2: How's the Tibs? Pretty bland, tbh. Certainly nothing to write home about in such an Ethiopian-dense area. The atmosphere is dull - more like a cafeteria. The saving grace was the kitfo. It was at least flavorful and had been at least introduced to the spice jar. The portion of kitfo was too small, though, and they were stingy with both the injara and awaze.

The food was delicious! I will be going back for a 3rd time. For 2 plates and 2 drinks, they never seem to go over $50 for me personally. They give you more than enough food, and the waiting time is a long time, but it's worth every penny.
