Copper Canyon has been one of our family ‘s go to restaurants for family meals, after work dinner and cocktails, and even outings with friends. However, I doubt that we will continue bringing our business to the downtown Silver Spring restaurant any longer. Our menu favorites have undergone recipe modifications that completely alter the integrity of the dishes to the point that they are mostly unrecognizable..The chicken pot pie, for instance, once sumptuous, hearty and filled with rotisserie chicken and vegetables, is now nearly the size of a Mrs. Callender’s individual boxed pot pie, and is only 1/3 filled— and the filling is woefully potatoes and a trace of chicken strings, no veggies. The once delicious Stanford Burger is mostly a large, rather stale bun. I could go on. My suggestion is try another location or another restaurant all together. Sad.

My boyfriend got us a reservation at the Vibe on Valentine's Day, but for a plethora of reasons we ended up walking out.

So we are now reservationless on Valentine's Day. We go to Copper Canyon and of course we couldn't reserve a table, but there was space at the bar! We happily accepted and made our way. The hostess ended up giving me a beautiful rose.

First thing I noted was that the place smelled like food! Doesn't sound like a big deal but the place we just left didn't smell like food at all, so nothing is taken for granted at this point. Next thing I noted was that the place was full, and there was a hustle and bustle that seemed intentional.

We sat at the bar in a positive mood but complainy and wouldn't you know the bartender/server worked previously at the place we had just left and let's just say she was happy we made our way to Copper.

I ordered the steak frites the food was seasoned to perfection, the fries thin and delicious and the side salad was moderate but flavorful. Our server, was busy but very attentive! And we received our food in like 20 minutes tops. The portion sizes were sizeable and if we weren't starving there would've been leftovers.

We both were very satisfied with our meal and service! And so grateful that they were able to accommodate us on such short notice.

Fantastic Dinner at Copper Canyon Grill!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Copper Canyon Grill in downtown Silver Spring! The moment we walked in, the lively yet welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a great evening. The food was phenomenal — every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared from scratch with high-quality ingredients. The iron skillet cornbread was a perfect starter, and the entrees were rich and satisfying. We especially loved the vibrant cocktails and attentive service throughout our meal. The staff made us feel welcomed and took great care of us from start to finish. Whether you’re out for a date night, dinner with friends, or a celebration, this place delivers on every level. Highly recommended — 5 stars!

The experience could've been much better. I was disappointed of the lack of attention to details.

I want to take a moment to recognize Monica for her outstanding work and professionalism. From the moment she was on the floor, she went above and beyond in every way possible. She didn’t hesitate to jump in wherever help was needed—cleaning tables, assisting the hosts, and even stepping in to help support the bartenders when things got busy.

What truly stood out to me was her work ethic and attitude. Monica stayed attentive, positive, and proactive the entire time. She made sure guests were taken care of, the space stayed clean and organized, and the team felt supported. You can tell she genuinely cares about both the customers and her coworkers.

Employees like Monica are the backbone of a great establishment. Her willingness to help everyone, her professionalism, and her strong presence on the floor made a noticeable difference. She deserves recognition and appreciation for the way she shows up and gets the job done.

Monica was absolutely amazing. She helped clean tables, supported the hosts, and even jumped in to assist the bartenders without hesitation. Her work ethic, teamwork, and positive attitude truly stood out. She goes above and beyond and clearly cares about doing her job well. A true asset to the team!

Dinner at Copper Canyon Grill was wonderful. The food was delicious and the service was great. We order the fried oysters and cornbread for appetizers. The oysters were tender and juicy and the cornbread was warm. We all ordered the grilled trout with the mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. The trout was cooked perfectly and the potatoes and spinach were flavorful. Our waitress was very attentive. Copper Canyon Grill did not disappoint and is one my favorite restaurants in Silver Spring!!

This restaurant is a reliable visit. Only the delicious stick fries stand out. Everything else is just good, reliable food. The menu doesn't change much. Could use more variety of desserts.

I took it upon myself to book reservations for my brother’s birthday at Copper Canyon Grill, and from a planning standpoint, everything started off smoothly. Parking was conveniently located just around the corner at the Wayne Avenue Garage, followed by a short three minute walk to the restaurant. Easy, accessible, no unnecessary hassle.

Once inside, the atmosphere immediately impressed. Polished, elegant, and inviting, with an ambiance that genuinely mirrors a five star dining experience. It set the tone for what felt like it should be a proper celebratory evening.

As the night progressed, we were greeted by our waitress, who was attentive at first and made a solid initial impression. However, despite her attentiveness, every request we made was followed by an unusually long wait time, roughly ten minutes each time. Refills, check ins, small requests, all met with consistent delays. It was noticeable and unexpected, especially given the restaurant’s upscale presentation and service expectations.

We began with the appetizers, and this is where the experience rebounded. I ordered the Fiesta Egg Rolls and the Spinach Artichoke Dip. The egg rolls were excellent, crispy, flavorful, and paired with a sauce that carried bold Mexican inspired accents. A strong and confident start. The Spinach Artichoke Dip was also enjoyable, enhanced by the addition of sour cream and salsa, which added richness and balance.

For my entrée, I chose the Chicken Milanese. Credit where it is due, the linguini was cooked to perfection. Smooth, well seasoned, and beautifully paired with the chicken, making the dish feel refined and satisfying. That said, the spinach on the plate was a miss. Overwhelming and unnecessary. A hard pass. Green beans would have been the better choice and would have completed the dish properly.

The final disappointment came at the end of the evening. Although the restaurant was informed ahead of time that this was my brother’s birthday, there was no complimentary cake, no candles, and no acknowledgment whatsoever. For an establishment that presents itself as a high end, celebratory dining destination, that omission stood out and felt like a missed opportunity.

Overall, Copper Canyon Grill delivers elegance, quality food, and a refined atmosphere. However, service pacing and attention to celebratory details held the experience back from being truly exceptional. A solid choice for a birthday dinner, but with clear room to elevate the experience further.
