District Bistro offers a variety of delicious dining options with a friendly and helpful staff. The Crab cake fritters were crunchy and well-portioned with flavorful sauce and lemon. The Seafood gumbo was flavorful with a decent amount of spice, and the crawfish gumbo tasted just as good as any in the Crescent City. The Sea scallops were perfectly cooked, and the Nugget's seared sea scallops were also cooked to perfection. The Lamb Bolognese was creamy with slightly gamey lamb, and the roasted duck moulard was a dish of the night, accompanied by many different flavors, including cranberry chutney and au gratin sweet potatoes. The Chocolate bread pudding was a delicious dessert, and the fish and chips were okay. The salmon burger and steak frites were excellent lunch choices, while the fried calamari was tender and fresh. The Warm Grains Bowl needed a better sauce, and the Branzino was overdone for some tastes. The space feels welcoming and appropriate for any event, from family dinners to date nights or brunch with friends. Overall, District Bistro provides good food at reasonable prices with a pleasant ambiance, making it a great dining option in Wheaton. The chef and staff truly care about the place, and the drinks are made perfectly. The lack of pretension makes it a refreshing spot for food lovers.
